Endorsements, Endorsements, Endorsements!

On the heels of this endorsement list from Kris at The World Around You, the Parlor is pleased to present lists of who endorsed whom in the state Senate races and the state House races.

My hat is off to Walt who week-in and week-out does more around here than you would believe to keep the Political Parlor humming along. He has been keeping up with this info for weeks to put these lists together for you. (He also worked long and hard on a list of endorsements for statewide and Congressional candidates that overlaps what Kris at TWAY has done. BTW, if you don’t already, you would probably enjoy checking out The World Around You for his take on other state political matters.)

No doubt there are endorsements inadvertently omitted so let us know (with a link if you can) of any that should be listed that aren’t here.

Check them out:

You missed a few endorsements. Roger Bedford has been endorsed by Tony Montana, Vito Corleone, and Tony Soprano.

Hubbard and Taylor got the Montgomery Advertiser endorsement:

“•House District 73: incumbent Republican David Grimes faces a challenge from Montgomery attorney Joe Hubbard, a Democrat. The candidates have similar positions on many issues, including the need for stronger ethics laws. But the Montgomery Advertiser recommends Hubbard because he makes a persuasive case that he will bring a higher level of energy to the office.”

That paper almost never endorses the challenger.

BCA’s endorsement has become meaningless. They endorse incumbents based on who they think will win instead of who they know will vote with their interests. BCA endorses hoping that their endorsement will somehow convince elected officials to vote with business even though they haven’t in the past.

    It’s kind of embarrassing.

Danny I think Paul Davis has exposed what kind of person Mike Hubbard is.

Legislative Dispatch

A Look from the Rearview Mirror

This Thursday will mark the last day of the legislative Session.  For some, it was a Session that seemed would never end.  For others, it was one that ended much too quickly.  It may be early, yet, to write an obit on this Session, but as we approach the finish line, some perspective may be in order.

Putting Students First

As you know, a very important piece of legislation will be presented for our consideration in the House tomorrow in Montgomery – Senate Bill 310 – the “Students First” tenure and fair dismissal reform bill. Like me, many House members have been inundated with phone calls and emails from opponents of this bill, and some have been [...]

Legislative Transparency

There are a lot of issues to debate before we begin the final days of this session. In fact, I am quite certain there will be some comments on this post debating many of them. Before we get into the last seven day of the session I wanted to bring up a topic that [...]
