Dale Peterson Rides Again, Endorses McMillan

Well… not literally rides again, because there is no horse this time.

His last internet spot had been called the best political ad ever. In this one, Peterson endorses John McMillan in the GOP primary runoff for Agriculture Commissioner after finishing third behind McMillan and Dorman Grace.

About the claim that Dorman Grace took illegal campaign contributions? PolitiFact rates that one “half-true.”

And I’m a bit concerned about what might have happened to the horse from the last spot.

Are you willing to go work on the farms? (I really doubt how snobby we have become) I bet the line was long for individuals to work on farms… but yet, we (as Alabamians) need to support Alabama products. I really don’t know ALL the facts surrounding the investigation… but I believe that nothing anywhere (but in two or three countries) is being done about illegal immigration. If you as a consumer want Alabama products to be cheaper and to be able to compete in an international market andddddd there isn’t anyone who even wants to work for “cheap labor” on a farm, then I’d love to see how you would consolidate that. It’s impossible. I really think that everything has been exaggerated… however, I’d love to see how you would handle that from a BUSINESS standpoint.

Susan – you are DEFENDING illegal immmigration? No wonder Dorman’s your guy. No one has harbored illegal aliens like Gold Kist.

It figures you would only see that… and it also shows how naive, or better yet, closeminded you are to facts that are in front of your face. I bet that you also believe that we shouldn’t legalize gambling either… when THAT’S already here too. Until the country starts DOING something with the illegal immigrants, from a business standpoint, I would use the labor I could. That’s not saying that Dorman is either. I’ve seen where people have said that he hasn’t commented. You need to do your research there too. He’s been in several interviews, denying that. The article about him serving on the different boards. I can guarantee that Dorman Grace hasn’t supported everything the Dept has done/been involved in… to assume he was the main supporter (if Gold Kist was using illegal immigrants), is kind of stretching it too. Amazingly, all of these stories are coming out… and the only way of hearing about them is on a one-sided point of view (which I can understand that)… but to say that Dorman is a snake, while John McMillan has outright shown that he is a politician that manipulates data and uses mouth pieces like DP… To believe that Dorman is a snake, and JM is a saint, that it a joke. I find it more interesting that Dorman is standing by what he says he’s going to do, while JM is in the background, pointing out rumors and stretching half truths to hurt Grace’s character.

All I hear from JM/DP camp is what all Dorman Grace is doing. I’d rather hear what they’re going to do for Agriculture. At least Grace isn’t bashing them. I can guarantee JM has a lot of skeletons in his closet.

Important difference between John McMillan and Dorman Grace: when John McMillan says he is “making a run to the border” he is heading to Taco Bell. When Dorman Grace says HE is making a “run to the border” it is to load up a bus with illegal aliens near Tiajuana and bring them to Alabama (which Gold Kist is known to do).

Legislative Dispatch

A Look from the Rearview Mirror

This Thursday will mark the last day of the legislative Session.  For some, it was a Session that seemed would never end.  For others, it was one that ended much too quickly.  It may be early, yet, to write an obit on this Session, but as we approach the finish line, some perspective may be in order.

Putting Students First

As you know, a very important piece of legislation will be presented for our consideration in the House tomorrow in Montgomery – Senate Bill 310 – the “Students First” tenure and fair dismissal reform bill. Like me, many House members have been inundated with phone calls and emails from opponents of this bill, and some have been [...]

Legislative Transparency

There are a lot of issues to debate before we begin the final days of this session. In fact, I am quite certain there will be some comments on this post debating many of them. Before we get into the last seven day of the session I wanted to bring up a topic that [...]
