Byrne v James, Round... XV?

Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim James responds to challenger Bradley Byrne’s negative ad, “Toll Bridge” (see that below the fold), today in this ad which includes the piano music and Dramatic Pause(tm) but leaves off whether or not it makes sense to “you.”

Here’s the ad James is responding to (in case you live on Mars or somehow missed it on tv.)

James’ campaign also posted this video on its blog which purports to clear up any misinformation about the bridge.

Byrne and James face Robert Bentley, Bill Johnson, Roy Moore, James Potts and Charles Taylor in the GOP primary.

Anon, what don’t you and Anonymous get a room?

By the way, isn’t Bradley worrying about the bridge being sold to a foreign company kind of like a someone worrying about a tattoo artist coming to repo a tattoo?

  • anonymous

The above post gives anonymous posters everywhere a bad name.

All right, guys. I love limericks as much as anyone, but let’s be more creative with some of the one-syllable words mmmk? Don’t want to ruin the fun, just am trying to keep the place more civil than not.
    Thanks!

An insider deal is an insider deal. It’s wrong whether you’re Riley or James. Tim James would have about as much governing ability as his dad — which was pretty skimpy. I’m not voting for either Byrne or James, but Byrne can actually put together an effective government. James hasn’t shown me anything resembling the ability to govern. With the challenges facing our state, we can’t afford a newbie.

read Governor of Goat Hill, the whole damn bridge deal is there in black and white and for you Tim James meat heads it is only in the third chapter so you don’t have to read too much. BTW didn’t Gov. James DOT guy go to jail????

2010…I think you need to get your facts straight. On Byrnes web site (which I can assume is the truth) he states that he attended University Military School. AKA… UMS. Anyone who lives in or around the Mobile area knows that to be one of the most elite schools in the county as well as the most expensive. He then attended Duke University and on to the U of A for a law degree. Those are the facts and if you have a problem with them, better call your friends web site manager.

I previously stated that Tim James’ commercials were the worst I had ever seen. I stand corrected. This one is actually worse than the others. I miss his disappearing wife and Guice Slawson’s multi-million dollar home.

  • blah blah blah

Tim – quit complaining that Byrne exposed you for what you are. Start running ads against Bentley and Moore. They are your competition now.

  • anonymous

Blah you’re right. Bentley and Moore ARE closer to Tim now than Bradley. Bradley is running closer to Bill Johnson. With a good ad or two Bradley can probably get withing the margin of error to Bill by Tuesday . . . .

Yes, Fob’s DOT went to jail for corruption at DOT. Remember the DOT is one the most important positions in the executive branch do the big bucks contracts than come from DOT.

Fob appointed a someone who was not qualified, was know as a drunk in montgomery and turned out to be a crook.
Fob appointed a pathetic group around him because he only wanted people who would kiss up to him.
Fob gave us Troy King as well via Bill Gray the trial lawyer who served as Fob’s legal adviser and a de facto lobbyist for the trial lawyers.

  • Folsom4ever

Fob was responsible for Boy Troy? I thought Troy started out as a driver for Spencer Bachus.

  • princeliberty

Oh no – don’t blame Bachus. Troy King began his great public service working as the assitant legal adviser to the Governor. Bill Gray’s right man during Fob part II (things get even worse).

But who cares about public corruption – what really matters is stopping people from a taking driver’s test in another language other than English!

  • Tabitha

Tim James comes across as a hateful azzhole. I would NEVER vote for him.

May I also add that his soap opera like pause is just CREEPY!

Bradley Byrne – supporter of Clinton ’92
Has a campaign sinking into deep doo-doo
    Alabama voters do not want
    A chardonnay-sipping bon vivant
Makes sense to me – does it to you?

Does anyone want to discuss INTEGRITY? Isn’t that the name of the firm that Byrne hired to do the background checks on his two year college employees? Integrity- a firm owned by one of Bradley’s buddies. Integrity- a firm that made MILLIONS off of the state of Alabama in exchange for false background checks. Why? Integrity didn’t have access to employee social security numbers, and their results were not accurate. Integrity caused extra work for 2 year employees and grief for others who were wrongly accused. So much for cleaning up the corruption in the two year college system. So much for true INTEGRITY.

Legislative Dispatch

A Look from the Rearview Mirror

This Thursday will mark the last day of the legislative Session.  For some, it was a Session that seemed would never end.  For others, it was one that ended much too quickly.  It may be early, yet, to write an obit on this Session, but as we approach the finish line, some perspective may be in order.

Putting Students First

As you know, a very important piece of legislation will be presented for our consideration in the House tomorrow in Montgomery – Senate Bill 310 – the “Students First” tenure and fair dismissal reform bill. Like me, many House members have been inundated with phone calls and emails from opponents of this bill, and some have been [...]

Legislative Transparency

There are a lot of issues to debate before we begin the final days of this session. In fact, I am quite certain there will be some comments on this post debating many of them. Before we get into the last seven day of the session I wanted to bring up a topic that [...]
