    HAHAHAHA! Good ad, Scott!

    Great. Freakin’ great!

He still voted for a 62% pay raise for a part-time job. Regardless of my stance on the lack of professionalism, need for higher pay of legislators to stave off lobbyists from buying them with trinkets – he still voted for government bloat in a time of uncertain economic times and hasn’t given back our tax dollars.

Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.

Beason’s pay raise might cost us $40K a year. The tax hikes Murphree supported as a Demo would have cost us billions.

    Do the math Brian.

Oh and Murphree gave money to the Demos as recently as 2006. AND he voted for the Brady Bill.

Beason voted for the pay raise, but other than that one vote, he’s the best state rep up there.

Billions? Really…the earmarking is so bad the GOP will lose their lunch when they realize how gutted the budgets will be with their No Tax Utopia of Vouchers so all the jingoistic white Republican children can get out of “government indoctrination schools”. See what happens when you follow the logic?
Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Pay raise. Beason. Pay Raise. Beason.Wasting our hard earned money. Beason.

Brian you are an idiot. You’re backing the biggest RINO on the ballot over the best conservative leader we have.

Jim Murphree was recruited by a officer of the Alabama Demoratic Party to run against Beason. Lowell Barron is running all over Montgomery trying to raise money for Jim. He says he is against gambling yet he takes money directly from one of the Gambling Pacs. Jim Murphree even admits he’s still just a “GOOD OLE DEMOCRAT” in the right setting.

Scott Beason is the author of SB233 the States Rights Bill, that will protect us from Obamacare. You also need to look at his WHOLE RECORD and not just one vote.

  • thomas

Beason was 1 of only 2 republicans to vote for himself a payraise and it was he very first vote as a senator. maybe thats because he has no other means of support other than our tax dollars.

Beason was upfront on the pay raise. He needed the money. I disagree with him, but won’t fault him for taking care of his family.

His raise was a small price to pay for the leadership he has shown (which I CANNOT say for most AL legislators).

Don’t be fooled by these Democrats running as Republicans (Blackwell, Murphree, Whatley, etc…).

Thomas, I suggest you take a closer look at what Beason does for a living. He is a small business owner that looses money during the legislative session. Beason is the best of the best in the Senate. I suggest you take a look at the time that true public servants put into their positions. Being a Senator in Alabama is only a part time job for the ones that suck. Scott Beason works year round to help his constituents, as well as the rest of the citizens of the State of Alabama.

I would also suggest perusing the General Fund budget. If you want to be angry about something, take a look at the way that the Democrats waste your tax money. Some of the Republicans have to buy their own office supplies, yet Rodger Smitherman has a $3.5 million budget for his office alone.

My point is that the really good Senators like Beason don’t get the extras and the perks that the Democrats (and some Republicans) do. The pay raise is a drop in the bucket when compared to the real waste in the legislature. If you ever want real public servants to leave their regular jobs and serve, they are going to have to be able to sufficiently meet their personal financial obligations. Not all of them take the $250 per lobbyist per day nor do all of them have a law firm that pays their bills when they are in session. I would rather know that my tax dollars were going to pay decent legislators than poured down the rat holes of the Democrats choosing.

And Murphree has cost the state more money than Scott Beason ever has. To vote Beason out would be to rob Alabama of a real Conservative and the best damn Senator in the state.

I don’t live in that district…but I do know Scott Beason…Looks like he has a lot of people hoodwinked in that area.

Four of us worked with him for a month to get SB233 through the Senate and I can tell you that, in my humble opinion, he is the most Conservative Senator in Alabama.

And since you aren’t in that district, I guess your opinion doesn’t really matter that much.

  • Reagan Republican

Voting against someone on a pay raise issue is akin to voting for Obama because you were mad at Bush over Irag. It’s short-sighted, foolish and stupid. In the end the pay raise has nothing to do with nothing. It’s the bigger picture that matters.

Legislative Dispatch

A Look from the Rearview Mirror

This Thursday will mark the last day of the legislative Session.  For some, it was a Session that seemed would never end.  For others, it was one that ended much too quickly.  It may be early, yet, to write an obit on this Session, but as we approach the finish line, some perspective may be in order.

Putting Students First

As you know, a very important piece of legislation will be presented for our consideration in the House tomorrow in Montgomery – Senate Bill 310 – the “Students First” tenure and fair dismissal reform bill. Like me, many House members have been inundated with phone calls and emails from opponents of this bill, and some have been [...]

Legislative Transparency

There are a lot of issues to debate before we begin the final days of this session. In fact, I am quite certain there will be some comments on this post debating many of them. Before we get into the last seven day of the session I wanted to bring up a topic that [...]
