State Sen. Harri Anne Smith (R – Slocomb) has this new ad going up in Mobile tomorrow. [...] Kay Ivey releases a statement on her switch from the Governor’s race to the Lt. Governor’s race:
Jamie Gilliam, the Communications Director for Les Phillip’s campaign, tells the Political Parlor that Phillip is committed to the race for the GOP nomination in Alabama’s 5th Congressional District. “There’s no truth to the rumors that he’s dropping out,” he said, adding, “I think it’s coming from other camps. I wish we knew where that was coming from. There’s no way we’d put out a release like this if there was any truth to the rumor.” Here is the full text of the release: Continue reading “Les Phillip Committed to AL-05 Race” Related Articles: Public Policy Polling has released the rest of the results from their Alabama polling this week. Looking over the bill and comparing it to the original, would have to say its better in that it defines matters without leaving it up to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Agency, deletes immunity provisions and on the surface seems much more free market friendly. [...] We’re all excited to have the Public Policy Polling results today. An independent poll — especially with all these wonderful details — is political geek manna! Not that we’re geeks. Here’s how interested parties are reacting (I’ll update this as I get more to point to): On the Democratic side, the poll has Artur Davis at 38% to Ron Sparks’ 28%. The Sparks campaign issued a press release embracing numbers which they say show Sparks “clearly has the momentum in the Democratic primary.” Their major take-away, as I read it, is this:
Here’s the release (.pdf) about that Davis-commissioned poll, which was conducted in July by Anzalone-Liszt Research. For the impatient (remember D comes before R):
