Couple of interesting things the John Tyson story point me to in campaign finance records:

    1. WATCH PAC, which the mobile paper says is entirely funded by gambling interests, has recently contributed at at least $4,500 to the Christian Coalition of Randy Brinson. This is the same Christian Coalition that has now suddenly become pro-gambling. Hmm.

    2. Troy King has received contributions from gambling interests, including Massey Development Group, which has been hired by Ronnie Gilley to do lobbying. Hmm.

The new Christian Coalition has not suddenly become pro-gambling, that happened the day Randy Brinson took control.

  • CC Dollar

seems the new task force leader has a history of taking mississippi choctaw gaming money also…riley throws in another one with conflicting interests…

Apparently, the only reason why Bradley Byrne want’s to be Governor is so that he can stick it to AEA. I mean, seriously, this guy doesn’t believe in anything. Oh, wait…that’s right…he does believe that you can’t take the Bible literally. Well, at least we know where he stands on Christian values.

The Governor Riley State Worker VETO =
Riley only wants to push the furlough plan instead of lay offs, so the State does not have to pay Un-Employment Insurance AND raise the Un-Employed percentage in Alabama which is already at a 25 year high.

There is another option – Stop paying for ridicules law suits and private security details, that only benefit his friends and family.

Regardless of Political Stripes Vote Tomorrow

As an elected official, I am tuned into voting habits and practices. Call me a political junkie, but I am fascinated by the whole electoral process—what age group votes most often, what issues motivate them and what media outlet is the most effective. While all of my interest in the political world is a hobby [...]

My Time is Up

I write this blog with some mixed emotion. Over the last eight years I have served in the House of Representatives, and this Thursday will most likely be my last day in session as a House member. Of course, my term goes until November, and there could always be a special session at [...]

TRYIN’ TO CATCH UP

I’ve been in Venice on a little vacation and just returned last night.  I’ve been trying to catch up and see that there have been few dramatic events in the last 10 days.  I thought the www.fivethirtyeight.com piece was especially good, though the comments reflected the anti-Alabama knee-jerk reactions of those who live outside the [...]
