In SD-4, a Block Off the Old Chip

SD 4Tom Beason has announced his candidacy for state Senate District 4. Beason, a retired BellSouth employee, is the father of state Senator Scott Beason (R – Gardendale).

Beason is the third Republican to announce a campaign for the seat held by Democrat Zeb Little. Dentist Paul Bussman and retired teacher Patricia McGriff have previously announced their candidacies. We help you keep up with it on the 2010 Senate Elections List.

Update: The Cullman Times has an article on Beason’s candidacy here.

  • would be nice if a Democrat would run against Zeb in the primary

Bussman is the Hubbard/party candidate and Tom Beason is the Beason wing of the party candidate. McGriff is the Teaparty candidate/religious.

Little has never had a primary and will not this time. Well liked by Cullman Lawrence and Winston County Dem parties.

This is nothing more than an obvious divide/power struggle within Chairman Mike Hubbard’s AL GOP. Scott Beason is ambitious, driven, and power hungry! Beason and Chris Brown are some of the most ruthless campaigners in the state. Paul Bussman has got to be worried. McGriff has to liking her chances to make it into the primary. Oh, and Zeb Little and Democrats are nothing but spectators is the mud-sling circus that is going to erupt in the GOP primary.

Should be an interesting campaign season in SD 4! This campaign would make Carville and Rove proud.
