Updates to Big List, Senate & House Campaign Lists

Outline of Alabama with '2010' written in itOk… so the 2010 Big List, House elections directory, and Senate elections directory have received overdue updates. You can ferret out the changes yourself, but I’ll call a few points to your attention.

  • On the 2010 Big List, I took out some of the names that were long ago mentioned as possible candidates but that never moved out of the rumor stage, like Mike Dow for Governor or Del Marsh for Lt. Governor.
  • I added the Supreme Court races to the 2010 Big List.
  • With the announcement of Bill Dukes’ retirement, the Political Parlor Braintrust moved the HD 8 seat from “Safe Dem” to “Lean GOP.”
  • Upon further review, the original call on HD 9 has been overturned. The seat held by Democrat Ron Grantland has been moved from “Lean Dem” to “Toss-up.”
  • Numerous names have have been added to the lists. A few have been removed.

Do let me know what changes should be made.

  • It sure is interesting to look at how much Morgan County has changed this decade. The democrats probably have a fair shot at the sheriffs office but outside of that its probably not going to be pretty for them in Morgan next year. Then theres poor old Mr Pierce in Florence. He’s had 3 months now and he apparently still hasnt decided whether he’s a democrat or republican. You got to laugh at his indecisiveness.

Morgan Sheriff didn’t have a lot of trouble with the last two Democrats, George in the Republican Primary and Little in the General.

What make you think he’ll do worse this time?

Glad to hear Duke is retiring. About time!

JD: I guess you are not aware of “Corn Dog Gate”. Sheriff Bartlett will not be re-elected.

    Also, the Coroner there….who is a Republican….is beat…

    Republican Values!

Are the Morgan Co Democrats going to bring former Judge U.W (I hate white people) Clemon up to campaign for their candidate?
Feeding the criminals the minimum food required shows good sense and is the current practice of most of the Sheriffs, Democrat & Republican in Alabama.

JJ, most will trade you a coroner for every other office in a county. Enjoy the Democrat autopsy.

  • ED

Elaine Beech won with around 80% tonight.
