- Candidate for Governor of Alabama Ron Sparks will be interviewed by Glen Beck from the Fox News Channel tonight at
5:304:00 p.m. central. Edit: The Sparks campaign sent out a new release with a new time. - Did you see where Roy Moore’s campaign said he had already received campaign contributions from every county in the state and every state in the Union?
Candidates for state office have only been able to raise money for 11 days, but former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore already has accomplished something he did not do during his unsuccessful run for governor in 2006. He has raised money from all 67 counties in Alabama and every state in the union, according to his campaign.
AdvertisementHis campaign claims no other candidate in Alabama history has ever accomplished this feat.
- Maybe it’s not a surprise that state Sen. Zeb Little (D – Cullman) is running for re-election even after recently pleading guilty to DUI. He confirmed that to the Cullman Times this week. But I bet he wishes they were running another ad with the story besides this one for this hardcover book that is running under the headline “Sen. Little to run for re-election” (screenshot is from today):

Am I the only one who chringed reading about Ron Sparks being on Fox tonight?
Update from Sparks campaign: the interview will air at 4pm and discuss national issues related to agriculture.
Isn’t it interesting that Roy Moore already has contributions from all 67 counties? Looks like the AG should investigate the illegal solicitations Moore made before June 1.
God told Roy it was OK for him to break the law – again.
Roy can’t acknowldege God unless he has some campaign money, so he doesn’t have to obey the FCPA. God says so.
Dale Jackson is suspended, but David Letterman is not?
glad to see ron talking about cow farts on glenn beck……..
I actually have to give Ron credit (which is RARE – I am not a fan). He handled the questions well and came across as sane.
“Came across as sane” – well that puts him one-up on Roy Moore.
I don’t think it’s illegal to solicit contributions before June 1; only to accept them before that date.
However, Roy’s announcement that he has already received contributions from every county in Alabama, and every state in the U.S.–just a few days into the date, is very suspicious. Surely this scheme was carefully set up in advance so he could get some good press.
Dale Jackson’s one-week suspension is just a slap on the wrist. He should be fired.
Also, he should be charged with tampering with an election.
As discussed before, Roy Moore did not ask for any money before June 1.
That lady acted on her with no connection from Moore.
Yet you guys continue to slander. Can’t you attack someone you dislike without slandering.
So, I think I get this. Sparks runs to the right of Davis in a climate where most rural conservatives vote in the GOP primary and when Moore and James will give them more incentive to come over. Sparks projects leadership by joking about cows and chickens, and courts Democrats who like Obama even in Alabama by taking side swipes on big government in the Obama era. Hope ALFA gets a check to Matrix soon so they can stop giving Ron the McDonald’s happy meal version of campaign work.
2010 and others have made such a big deal over their claims Moore could not raise money.
In fact Money was the real argument for James have some alleged edge over Moore.
Well you guys are in a BIG surprise. The reason is small contributions are were its at.
The only Republican running who can raise small contributions for a large base is Moore and no one else.
And no Moore’s base has not left, in fact, more Christians are eager for real courageous leadership that every before.
And there is only one candidate who can give them that.
Well Prince, Can you explain to me if Roy is soooo popular, why did he not carry his home box and whhyyy did the person running as an atheist get more votes than Moore?? I guess that Riley was just so popular that Moore’s own box just simply could not vote for him. My theory is home town folks know you best. I thnk that sums it up…
#9 – it IS illegal to solicit donations prior to June 1 – there isz an AG’s opinion clearly stating this.
Mooree should be investigated. Of course, as we all know, he doesn’t have to obey the law.
princeliberty – i never said moore could not raise money. I said that I hope he cannot. there is a difference.
