Roy Moore Attempts Roundhouse Kick into Governor’s Office

Martial Arts silhouetteMartial artist and actor Chuck Norris has endorsed Republican Roy Moore for Governor of Alabama. Many of you know that Norris has become an icon for the internet tall tales of near omnipotence and general over-the-top awesomeness.

Examples from chucknorrisfacts.com:

  • Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.
  • It takes Chuck Norris 20 minutes to watch 60 Minutes.
  • Chuck Norris can hit you so hard that he can actually alter your DNA. Decades from now your descendants will occasionally clutch their heads and yell “What The Hell was That?”
  • If, by some incredible space-time paradox, Chuck Norris would ever fight himself, he’d win. Period.
  • Chuck Norris is currently suing Myspace for taking the name of what he calls everything around you.

But does he have coattails?

(Do you have a favorite Norris fact?)

Hat tip to Reader M. And to Chuck Norris who knew I was going to post this before I knew.

What’s a bigger joke? Roy Moore or Chuck Norris endorsing Roy Moore. Both very sad.

  • Mr. Jinks

Chuck Norris doesn’t sleep. He waits.

Seriously, someone should get word to Chuck’s people that Roy Moore might be the antichrist. Just a courtesy warning.

  • 2010

chuck must not know what a true nut case moore is…..

  • Chuck Norris has the greatest poker face of all-time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of jail free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green No.4 Uno card.

Huckabee take off in the Republican primary was due to Chuck Norris’ endorsement.

He was going absolutely nowhere with no money before that.

He won the Alabama primary easily.

So yes they can really help in the primary esp. in fight between Moore and James for Christians.

Norris is far better none and liked than anyone who has come out for James.

Chuck Norris once went to the Virgin Islands. They are now known as “the islands.” And Roy Moore ordered him castrated for fornication. The End.

Re: #5’s comment: I’m no Huckabee fan, but he’s an infinitely more viable condidate than roy. I don’t see the endorsement helping much beyond the Ultimate Fighting Championship crowd.

    Re:7, your mistaken.

Chuck Norris is very well respected in the Christian community which is exactly were he helped Huckabee.

Huckabee was like at 1% in the polling when Chuck came on board.

So he is a real plus, esp. since Alabama really is lacking in local leadership and thus the Christian community really listens to national voices in the Christian community.

Some of Roy Moore’s toadies should learn to spell before posting on this website.

Insulting people is really a class way to make an argument Buford.

Chuck Norris knows nothing about Moore. Why would anyone be impressed by this. Is Bo Derek the next to endorse?

Heard at a local breakfast table…

“Honey, the Republican primary is 12 months away, and I’m just dying to know who are you voting for in the governor’s race?”

“Awwwww I’m not sure yet. I’m waiting on Chuck Norris to make his endorsement. Say, have you seen my “Save the 10 Commandments” yard sign I paid $20 for 4 years ago?”

“Yes, dear, its in the garage next to that copyrighted 10 Commandments trinket you bought online for $50 and your “Jim Zeigler for State Auditor” yard sign.”

#4 is the best so far.

The truth is that Norris gets too much credit for making Huckabee viable. The truth is that Huckabee’s viability was much more about being the only anti-McCain that real conservatives trusted. They never really trusted Romney (I am not sure if it was his Mormon roots or his former support for abortion that turned them off).

The idea that Huckabee was ushered into the front of the primary crowd by Norris is silly. What did happen was that Huckabee was competing in Iowa to be the “conservative” candidate. Guiliani and McCain took a pass, and Romney was rolling up in Iowa and therefore had become the establishment guy. Brownback and Huck were competing to be the conservative, and Thompson was competing (I use the word generously) with Romney to be the establishment candidate. Norris did help Huckabee make a splash in earned and paid media leading up to the Iowa Straw poll.

After that it was all Huckabee, with his wit and charm. I understand Moore has none of that.

Moore’s best bet is to use this for earned media purposes and get as much media attention as he can. In this crowded field, the press will look for things like this to cover.

As for why Norris endorse Moore, it is my understanding that he is as much a fundamentalist Christian as anyone including Moore.

    CHUCK NORRIS APPROVED!

Do you think Moore can capitalize on this like Huckabee did? Discuss…

Chuck Norris puts the “laughter” in “manslaughter!”

  • I simply don’t understand what it is to Chuck Norris anyway. He doesn’t live in Alabama, he needs to worry about politics in his own state, and leave ours alone. We are the ones who will have to deal with Roy Moore as Governor, not him. Chuck Norris endorsing Roy Moore is crazy what is he trying to prove, his money will screw our state up even more than it already is, and he can just laugh at our state while he works out in his gym.

  • Bama_brew

I can think of one thing Moore and Chuck Norris do NOT have in common: Norris supported the reelection of George W. Bush, Moore did not.

In 2004, when President W. George Bush was running for re-election, Roy Moore voted for the Libertarian Party candidate, Michael Peroutka.
