I hope this is better attended and organized than his announcement.
First of all, I am not supporting Artur Davis. But I think Republicans are selling him short. This man presents himself well, is a moderate, has a strong base of support (not just black voters, either), and is really electable.
Already I hear people talking landslide if Davis is the nominee. Think again!
John Killian – when did your delusion start? Landslide? Good grief….
Is this the same John Killian who thought Tommy Carter would win yesterday?
Mark, Yes, the same John.
Heck, what do I know? My political prognostications are rather suspect/
I still think Artur will be stronger than most GOPers think–and this comes from one who is not supporting Artur.
davis may be stronger than some in the GOP think but to say Artur will win in a landslide is just not rational.
Davis will be stronger than anticipated due to the fact that the Republican field is getting crowded and Artur has minimal opposition from a marginal candidate in the primary. Unless Sue Bell gets in the race in the next few days, Artur will sail through the primary unscathed and the Republicans will spend the primary season beating each other up.
Right. Davis can’t win. Certainly not in Alabama. A well spoken, intelligent man who believes that special interest groups shouldn’t prosper at the expense of a hardworking middle class? Oh, and someone who believes in educating the next generation, not incarcerating them. Of course the establishment politicos, on both sides of the aisle, are putting out that he can’t win. Because they don’t want him to win. No more politics as usual. No more favoritism. No, not very appealing. That is, not unless you’re a voter in this state — one of the real people who would benefit from a governor who would actually believe in honest government and progress, not just pay lip service.
2010, who is saying Artur in a landslide? I do see him with a strong chance to win, but not in a landslide.
Neither do I see Artur Davis losing in a landslide.
To Politiki…I admit, I lean Davis because I have little regard for Sparks and Cobb’s private comments about Davis’ race were so raw they turned me off. So, forgive the bias..but multiple people at the Davis kickoffs in Birminghmam and Mobile described the events as packed. I have heard that the organization was weak in Birmingham, but not accurate to say that he didn’t draw a bigger crowd than Byrne’s or Sparks’s annoucements in any of their kickoff cities.
