Luther Strange Announces Today

Luther StrangeLuther Strange will announce his 2010 candidacy today at about 10 a.m. on his website www.LutherStrange.com, according to his campaign. Video, audio and text will be available for download.

The expectation is that he will run for Attorney General and give a primary challenge to Republican incumbent Troy King. And, I might add, that has the feel of a race that could be a real donnybrook.

Hoss Man, even Troy himself would have trouble saying “Troy King is an excellent attorney general” with a straight face. And I will not make the easy joke here about “Troy” and “straight face.”

King is widely – WIDELY – regarded as incompetent – by the Alabama legal community and by legal observers nationwide. This is a man who had never tried a case in his life whrn he was appointed to the AG’s position.

You are being ridiculous, Hoss Man. You could claim you agree with his politics or that he should be cut slack because he is a “good guy” but don’t insult people’s intelligence with truly bizarre assertions.

    Captain Obvious-
I would agree with you as to the lack of courtroom experience Troy King had when Bob Riley (for whatever reason) appointed him AG. As voters evaluate whether the opposing Republican candidate is any better in that regard, can you point us to any cases tried by Luther Strange? Why doesn’t a real prosecutor like David Barber get in the race instead?
