Where Does Larry Langford Live?

The Birmingham Mayor claims a Birmingham residence as his primary home, but Birmingham Weekly’s Kyle Whitmire is not so sure. He makes five early morning visits to Larry Langford’s other home in Fairfield. Care to guess how many times out of the five visits he finds the Mayor’s car there? Hint: more than four.

Full write-up with video over at the Birmingham Weekly.

  • You know Danny its disappointing to read stories like that. I wish voters would seriously think about what their doing before they vote. Look how well cities like Huntsville and Nashville have done the last fifteen or so years with serious minded people at the helm. Contrast them with the mayors in cities like Birmingham,Memphis and Jackson. Its like night and day. No corruption,no grand jurys meeting,no running to TV cameras every 30 minutes…there’s none of that in Huntsville and Nashville and we see how well they’ve done. Maybe one day people will learn…

  • No story here. Carry on.

Pat Cooper waited until after the election to even bring this up. Everyone knew that Larry had no intention of living in Birmingham.

  • Anybody know what song that it is in video? It’s a catch tune.

The question is why didn’t anyone ever challenge Larry Langford on this during the election? I think that people by and large knew that Langford was not currently living in the city of Birmingham when he was running, but he was able to cover his butt by saying that he had bought a place downtown and he was moving there full time once elected. This will make his reelection that much less likely. Sadly, it may be 2011 before the citizens of Birmingham get a chance to do anything about this.

No story here? Suppose not, the Birmingham voters don’t seem interested or concerned.

many voters in bham could care less….and that is the problem.

anyone else see the mayor in that root suit yesterday? he’s lost his mind, and needs to be in jail anyway. whose escalade is that anyway?

  • I always say that politicians in Huntsville should get on their knees and thank Birmingham’s elected officials. No matter how dumb politicians might act in HSV from time to time it pales in comparison to the idiots in The Ham.

Nice story. But I would have loved for them to hang around on the 5th day and get video of LaLa actually coming out of the house and getting into that silly Escalade.

The mayor should be impeached for no other reason than that he owns such a ridiculous vehicle.

  • Everyone knew that Larry had no intention of living in Birmingham.

Really? Including the judge who accepted his “intent” to move to the city as justification for upholding his election? Perhaps if this were the only time Langford played fast and loose with the law, it wouldn’t be that big a deal. But he definitely needs to stop griping about people who live outside the city telling Birmingham residents what to do.

How can Bham police arrest anyone for breaking the law, when their Mayor is doing the same thing?

  • Don

When Senator “Walking Wendell” Mitchell ran for re-election in 2006 his Republican opponent brought up the fact that he lives in SD25 rather than in SD30 which he represents. Apparently no one thought there was a story in that.

  • Von Buskirk

Another story that gets no attention is that former mayor Richard Arrington, for whom a major thoroughfare going through the heart of downtown is named, lives in HOOVER.

And it is common knowledge that Lala lives in Fairfield but is pooh poohed by supporters as conspiracy or racism.

Sad. Birmingham has a lot of potential but its local government will keep it from succeeding.
