  • Oh my word! I’d have a hard time taking that email seriously even if it weren’t full of grammatical errors. Can’t wait to see the web “sight”.

  • Liberal

Perhaps Judge Moore should find someone who could spell correctly.

  • walt moffett

It sounds like one those nigerian 419 emails

  • Jura Nostra

    Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • 2010

please, please, please tell him NOT to run. it’s just nuts.

  • SamfordDem

As a Democrat, I want go ahead and endorse Roy Moore in the Republican primary. He will be no doubt your strongest nominee in the general.

  • TrueBlue

OUCH !!! Someone needs to tell the judge that it’s against alabama campaign finance law to solicit contributions or PLEDGES before June 1. Darn those pesky rules…..

  • princeliberty

If you are a Democrat you better be concerned about
    stopping Davis.

Davis would be defeated by any Republican candidate without any exceptions.

  • Scorpius

Where can I purchase my tickets to next year’s Republican Assembly convention? Can’t wait to watch the Moore Crips mix it up with the James Bloods.

  • 2010

HAHA post 9. That is the funniest thing I have read on here in a while. We need more humor for sure.

And post 7 makes an excellent point….it is a no no to solicit funds before mid June is it not?

And I actually agree, for once, with the feelings of Samford DEM. Believe me, if GOPers want to shoot themselves in the foot, then let’s elect roy moore as our nominee for Gov.

  • SamfordDem

Princeliberty, I heard the exact same crap about our current president early on. Republicans underestimate Artur Davis at their own peril. I have some issues with Davis as a candidate but none of them have anything to do with electability. He can win. And he sure as heck can wipe the floor with proven loser Roy Moore.

  • princeliberty

Obama himself has only a 48% approval in this state now at his political peak.

Obama had the floor was hammered by a pathetic McCain.

Obama was the clear favorite from day one during the general election due to Bush, Iraq, the economy and what a pathetic candidate McCain was.

Davis has moved to the left since Obama won. Davis is embracing every single point of Obama’s agenda.

Obama’s agenda is turning folks off in this.

Those who support his agenda are fewer that those who say they approve of him. Due to the fact people want to have their President do well.

As for Roy Moore vs. Davis. You will have one candidate that the majority of Alabama support on every issue vs. one candidate they are against on every issue.

So SamfordDem go ahead and deny reality.

As for 2010 – you think Riley’s a great governor?!

So reason not going to work for you.

I don’t follow #12. Why is this Obama’s political peak? He is getting battered on every conservative talk radio show I pass on the dial, the economy is still in the ditch and he has taken some controversial positions on issues like torture. Also, have you forgotten that Obama got 10% of the white vote here?

I think the 48% approval rating and the 33% white support in the survey reflects that even with pretty hostile opposition from the right, and without clear success on the economy, Obama has made noticeable inroads with whites. What that means specifically for Artur Davis, I don’t know, but it certainly means something for Obama.

  • SamfordDem

Princeliberty, last time I checked Riley was sitting on a 70%+ approval rating, so I don’t think Riley-bashing is a good starting point for a Republican running for governor. I have my issues with Riley as well, but the guy obviously knows how to relate to the people. I don’t buy the McCain was a weak candidate crap for one minute either. Yes, his age was a liability, but he was a war hero respected by Republicans and Dems alike with tons of experience running against a black man with a Muslim-sounding name and two years experience in the US Senate. It was a good year for Dems but those are a lot of liabilities on the Dem side.

Furthermore, if you look at Davis’ record, he has actually lurched to the right since Obama came in. I have a difficult time listening to anything from someone who thinks Alabamians agree with Roy Moore on every issue.

  • Pat

I wonder if it’s a violation of Alabama law to solicit pledges for donations, without accepting donations, prior to June 1. The spirit of the law seems to be to prohibit all fundraising, including pledges, until June 1.

As for some of the comments on this page regarding Artur Davis, he’s only a viable candidate against GOP candidates like James, Moore or Ivy. If Byrne, Petelos or the someone of their caliber jumps in, he’s going to have a extremely difficult climb to the Governor’s mansion. Remember, Obama – who Davis is emulating in his candidacy – only garnered appx. 39% of the vote in Alabama.

  • princeliberty

Your simply denying reality saying Davis has moved to right since Obama came in?

He voted for TARP I and II. Voting for the stimulis.

He is supporting Obama on everything.

What are earth do you consider moving to the right.

By the way Riley is 53 to 42 in the latest SurveyUSA poll and moving down.

As for what is good a Republican candidate to do.

I’m not running for office. I am not a Republican.

    I am an independant.

  • 2010

princeliberty thinks everyone sucks. and for the most part….he is correct!

  • Anonymous

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that if the Republican field for Governor stays as flat as it is now, that Jeff Sessions, riding a wave of publicity from his high profile opposition to Obama’s Supreme court nominee, will get in the 2010 race with his six million dollar and growing warchest sometime in January?

  • The Jolly Jokester

Moore. I cannot think of a better punchline.

  • 2010

I think Jeff Sessions has no interest in being Governor. He is happy in the Senate. I can see Shelby maybe doing that as he loves power and may enjoy being the head of state in alabama.

  • princeliberty

I did like Jack Kemp. I was an intern on his 1988 Presidential campaign.

The country would have been so much better off.

  • Goat Hill

Run, Roy, Run! The better republican choice by far!

  • 2010

Jack Kemp was a good guy and a good public servant. Whether you agreed with him or not – he was an honorable guy and knew his policy well. We need more of that.

  • No

Roy should run – as far from our state as he can. THAT would be a true public service.

But Roy Moore is all about his own ego. He could not care less about Alabama. He does mot bear fruit, as the Bible says. He is the pharisee praying loudly in public view. He’s bad for this state.

  • Peter

    Lindsey is seeking patriot’s what?

Is your grammar better than a 5th grader?

  • Baudrillard

Lord help us all. Should be a very interesting primary season.

  • princeliberty

The Republican party real went the wrong way when it rejected Jack Kemp and his ideas.

And it really truely became the party of Bush.

A party devoted to big business and growing government that spouts some conservatives lines but whose leaders actually hold the party base on contempt.

That is the way of the Bush family and the republican party is consumed by it.

Its the point that we really need a new party.

And the Republican party needs to simply taken out back and put out of its misery.

  • The Jolly Jokester

Know what’s more pathetic than a Roy Moore run for Governor?

    Me neither.

  • The Jolly Jokester

There IS some good news on the career front for Roy. He has been cast as DEAN WORMER in the “Animal House” remake “Alabama Animal House”.

    Here’s the full cast:

Judge Roy Moore as Dean Vernon Wormer

Troy King as Douglas C. Niedermeyer

    Bradley Byrne as Greg Marmalard

    Tim James as Otter

    Kay Ivey as Bluto

    Artur Davis as Otis Day

  • Peter

…and Sen. Charles Bishop as D-Day.
