Sue Bell Cobb may want to cleanup the mess her husband caused, while building there new home in Orange Beach Al. Before running for governor, this could cause her problems.

Danny - we have not heard much about Byrne and his run for Gov. Yes, I know he has not announced but from the writing on the wall so to speak, an announcement will be forthcoming. I think Byrne will add some weight to the GOP field that otherwise is lacking. James and Byrne seem to me, the only real candidates at this point as I don't feel Ivey will get very far. Is anyone hearing much from the Byrne camp?

Hey, I wasn't being serious.

James will be nowhere near the frontrunner when the polling starts.

So big claims of James support are only setting up for a fall when he fails to meet expectations.

It does not matter anyway. He the one guy running who can't get the Republican nod.

Bentley would have a better shot at winning a runoff.

Now James probably can get to 10% easier than Bently, but beyond that forget about it.

And really forget about 10%. He will never get that.

Dude James is not the frontrunner for Republicans.

Your doing him a favor by saying he is. Because when the polls start coming out, he will some clearly on top frontrunner.

Cobb is running into a lot, and I mean a lot of resistance, from trial lawyers, regarding her leaving the bench. There is also a lot of hand-wringing about how brutal a Davis Cobb race is going to be. (These two camps do not like each other). I think Danny's source was right as of 48 hours ago, but others are saying that Cobb has pushed off her plan for a Friday announcement until next week.

bradley byrne is the only serious name that comes to mind for the GOP against James. others, like jack hawkins and jo bonner have decided not to run. i think you can expect byrne to be the one, truly tough candidate against james.... assuming byrne can raise cash.

Every Barack needs his Hillary, I guess. Although Lucy Baxley makes more sense, parallel-wise. Too bad gubernatorial candidates don't pick their running mates. Bedford would be a shoo-in for egomaniacal long-time senator who ends up No. 2 despite flaming out in the primary.

i still think this is very unlikely. but as a Republican, I hope she does run. We need the dems to beat up on each other and cause each other to spend a lot of money in their own primary for a change. The Republicans are masters at it... so let the dems do it for a change. go cobb go!

I bet that polling comes back saying whatever she wants it to say. When a candidate is 90% decided then they will figure a way to see the positives in polls. That is the funny thing about candidates. Once their mind is made up it is very hard to discourage them.
