The Governor’s open letter concerning bingo that has been carried in most state papers is factually dishonest. I won’t waste everyones’ time here but anyone who really wants to be honest knows it is full of misrepresentations. What Riley is doing is using his bully pulpit to twist information. He claims to be an upstanding Christian. Riley knows the stuff he has written is a lie. Once again the religious movement claims others are dishonest all the while they lie their pants off to save us from ourselves. Choctaw Bob is a Mississippi protectionist. Now we find out Choctaw Bob gave all our tax money to the Thyssen Krupp folks in southwest Alabama so they could go hire a ton of illegal aliens to work on the project who will return no taxes to the state. This guy is shameless. We are the real idiots because we have let this guy perpetrate his factually absent claims. Riley is absolutely write about one thing. Alabama currently has the lowest tax on gaming, bingo, or whatever you choose to call it. Alabama collects absolutely nothing from these operators. One of the stories here talks about the education budget even with the hundreds of millions in stimulus money Alabama has collected still being $125 million or so short. When this same budget next year has to take into account obligations for the PACT program, cost of living, rises in health care, and on and on and we only have another year of the stimulus money what is Alabama going to do. The state will be taxing someone you can bet that. Every person who is sitting back letting Riley perpetrate his lies and Mississippi-based protection of bingo taxes in Alabama best remember this when they get the news the state has decided to tax them or something they are involved with. Opposition to taxing bingo is short-sighted and in the end it and Riley’s religious protection on behalf of Mississippi will cost us all dearly.
