Sparks Announcement Postponed Because…

Podium with microphonesFollowing up on this earlier post

Someone close to Ron Sparks tells the Parlor that a reason for the postponement is that the campaign had logistical problems getting the printed material in time for the annoouncement. Plus, weather reports indicated possible rain on Tuesday. Those two issues were enough to make them decide to “hold off for a better day.”

A new date for the announcement has not been chosen.

I’ll say they had logistical problems with printed materials…imagine receiving a brochure or yard sign that said, “Elect Sparks for ______________”

What is his campaign slogan, “He has a passion to be your ___________________!”

    What a joke.

Something is up here. The weather story is obviously garbage, and the sign problem piece is just as ridiculous. The only explanation is that Sparks & co. believe there is some real shot that Folsom may not run. I have never bought the idea that Folsom would pass on this race but it looks like Sparks might be starting to buy it.

sparks is a freakin’ joke. everyone has known from the start that he will run for whatever folsom doesn’t. it makes sparks such a wannabe. yet he goes around telling folks folsom does not factor in to his decision. yeah, right. rainy days ahead ron, rainy days….

  • Maybe there was rain in Cuba

While all of my interest in the political world is a hobby [...]

My Time is Up

I write this blog with some mixed emotion. Over the last eight years I have served in the House of Representatives, and this Thursday will most likely be my last day in session as a House member. Of course, my term goes until November, and there could always be a special session at [...]

TRYIN’ TO CATCH UP

I’ve been in Venice on a little vacation and just returned last night.  I’ve been trying to catch up and see that there have been few dramatic events in the last 10 days.  I thought the www.fivethirtyeight.com piece was especially good, though the comments reflected the anti-Alabama knee-jerk reactions of those who live outside the [...]
