Roy Moore Eyes 2010 Gubernatorial Campaign

We’ve been hearing the rumors. Now it’s being said aloud. Associated Press says this afternoon, “Alabama’s Ten Commandments judge, Roy Moore, is weighing another run for governor in 2010, when he won’t have to take on a popular incumbent.”

  • Bring him on

Bring Roy Moore on, all he can do is help the real candidates. Roy Moore will cut down on the radical right support for Tim James.

    Yaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh

Roy Moore would be tough in the Republican Primary. He would easily make the run-off.

    Got to be kidding me

roy moore is a crazy person. who is jill simpson supporting?

    (BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!)

That was the sound of Tim James after hearing the news and suddenly realizing he has committed 2 years of his life and a sizeable portion of his net worth to split a total of 12% of the electorate with Moore.

Oh come on. Surely the R’s aren’t going to let him on the ticket. Hasn’t he run afoul of their party loyalty rules, or do the crazies on the state repub committee have enough votes to force the party to qualify him? And how much money does Tim James have in this thing at this point, anyway?

Roy Moore would be a lock for the run-off? I doubt he could come out of the Libertarian Party Primary in a run-off with Sopheclueus and Loretta Nall (No offense Loretta, only 2 Libertarians I could think of)

Judge Moore vs. Congressman Davis? I like the square presentation of choices and issues to the voters of this state.

What a godsend for Davis or Folsom–if Moore’s voters determine the winner of the GOP runoff, that person, say Ivey, is tarred with moderates in the general. if a candidate unattractive to the Moore crowd wins, say Byrne, the Moore crowd is capable of going for a Folsom or if its Davis, more likely just staying home.

This may be as much bad news for Repubs as the Matrix poll last week showing Davis beating Ivey, Bonner, Byrne, and James.

  • Whoa Nelly

If you will go back and look at the the numbers, Moore lost his home box. There is the old campiagn adage that says “home folks know you best” and in the case of Roy Moore, I think his home folks know him. I think he is broke, and his speaking engagments are drying up, so this is nothing but a ploy to get himself back on the (paying) speaking circuit again. If you are going to do the “Lord’s Work” but charge $15,000 a pop to speak, one has to wonder if it is a “ministry”. I wonder if Paul charged for his work. I don’t think so. As a matter of fact I believe the Bible says “he sewed tents” to help pay his own way. Not many tent makers in the Moore Campaign Movement.
This is not about right or wrong, it’s about “the love of money” and power……. If I am mistaken then God forgive me, but I honestly believe this to be the situation here. Moore does not, nor has he ever, posted “any” of his financial matters, and for a man who ran on tranparency in goverment, it just seems a little fishy to me. I would be partially satisfied if he would just reveal his earnings, salary, and benefit package since he started his “Foundation for Moral Law”.

Yes, go Judge Moore. This is a real man.
Alabama remember, we dare defend our rights.
