Candidates for Montgomery Mayor Lining Up Support

Montgomery County Commission Chair Todd Strange announced last week his intention to run for mayor of Montgomery. He has raised over $100,000 already.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser:

Strange said he wants to keep the campaign positive, which is one reason he hired the same team of people who worked with [outgoing Mayor Bobby] Bright during his congressional campaign. He said he wants his mayoral campaign to have the same tenor.

He may have gotten Bobby Bright’s team, but he didn’t get Bobby Bright. Bobby Bright is backing Michael Briddell, Bright’s executive assistant, for the job.

Good move on Bobby’s part: alienate half the city and the County Commission Chairman.

Strange has hired John Anzalone as his pollster/consultant. Anzalone is a democrat. Why is Strange surrounding himself with democrats. Does he really think we are going to believe he is a democrat.

Anzalone is a betrayor to all democrats by representing Strange. He has gone from being an honest, good pollster/consultant to being a hired gun. I hope the republicans are paying Anzalone real well.

According to the Montgomery Independent, Circuit Judge Charles Price is mulling his prospects.

January 4th looks like it maybe an exciting day.

Charlie Price is the front man for some black ministers and politicos who are trying to cut a deal with Todd Strange. Strange has gotten Art Baylor out by lining up support for him to be US Marshall and for some reason Strange’s camp does not fear Breidell, who looks plausible on paper.

#2 must be a hater of Anzolone or someone that lost business to him.

#5 I considered Anzalone a friend. He has always billed himself as a democratic pollster. Only democrats are mentioned on his website, including Barack Obama. Why is he now helping Todd Strange, a republican, in his bid to get elected as mayor? Did he not earn enough in the 2008 cyle? We are not in the same business. I don’t hate him at all. I just feel betrayed as a democrat.

Didn’t Strange push for Dax Swatek for Love? he must have decided Swatek is a LOSER.

Just like the rest of Alabama. Bye, Dax.

  • as I’m sure most know, the MGM Mayor’s race is non-partisan

  • Dont’ rule out Scott Simmons, either.

    Killian, Simmions has 0 chance.

  • methinks Simmons will be a three-time loser
