Lucy Baxley, newly elected as President of the Public Service Commission, was expected to preside over her first meeting of the Commission tomorrow. Instead she has been hospitalized due to a hairline fracture of her pelvis resulting from a fall on Thanksgiving Day. Her assistant Lisa Parrish says no surgery is necessary and that Baxley is expected to make a full recovery.
Unfortunately, an incident like this will be a red flag to those who have been concerned as to whether she is able to meet the demands of the job after a debilitating stroke two years ago.
We wish her a speedy and full recovery from her Thanksgiving break.
