Let’s all take this win with class! We will handle it in a classy way! We at Love’s campaign give the Bright campaign due credit. Good job on both sides!

When I read the removed comment by Anonymous #3, thought about the Republican’s almost purely negative campaigns, I suddenly realized Republicans are Daleks.

I firmly believe that the reason Bright won/Love lost was the tone of the Jay Love campaign,

It seemed 100% negative to this moderate.

Bright’s commercials were positive; he left the negative to the DCCC.

All of Love’s (that I recall) were awful.

    great day in alabama!!

Congratulations to Bright, but I have to wonder if Harianne Smith carries any remorse for helping this district lose their Republican seat. I know many, many in the Wiregrass very bitter about her role in all this.

#11, Mike Hubbard did far more to lose this seat than harri Anne Smith did. I would bet that Hubbard’s days as party chair are done after the embarrassing losses of yesterday.

  • Anonymous

Yea….I would hate to be Hubbard today. Best of luck to him

The combination of Hubbard’s conduct, Ross and Philip Bryan’s GOP releases and Love’s negative ads lost this seat for the Alabama republican party.

  • anonymous

Yes, but it wasn’t Hubbard on the airwaves supporting the other party. HAS held a news conference to support Bright, the man she would have been opposing if she’d not lost to Love. And, if she’d gotten that far, rest assured, she would have tried to smear Bright as well. The people of the Wiregrass have lost respect for Harianne, and strangely, I’ve not heard Hubbard’s name used negatively except by HAS’s supporters. She was not and is not the gal for the job!!!

It’s over. Done. Best man was chosen. The Lord will ALWAYS protect those who chose his way. Jay, you should’ve known the lies would not help you.

Bright is a crook. He won’t protect Rucker, and I plan to see to it that he is out of office very soon.

  • anonymous

Plan away my friend but you will have to wait 2 years.
BTW, I wouldn’t ask Swatex, Hubbard,or that crowd to help you with your plans.. They won 4 court races that has been theirs for (R) for years but came within a gnat’s eyelash of giviing it away.. Hubbard has not gained any additional legislative seats in state or federal elections since he became chairman. As a matter of fact,,, HE HAS LOST SEATS…. This one in a district that has been Republican for 42 years.. Helluva a job there Mike !!!! He gave away two PSC seats to Democrats. They lost the LT. Governor’s seat. Yes, the Hubbard crowd has really been kicking some Democrat rear end lately…. RIGHT!!!

HAH. Bright won, and you need to face it. You obviously had not power to prevent that, but good luck “seeing to him being out of office soon”. What are you going to do put love up against him again. UH OH

Just as an FYI–Hubbard was not chairman in November of 2006 when Folsom won Lt. Gov.
