there were previous posts here but they are gone.

the anzalone thing is a big deal b/c the polls have a knack of coming out right when a dem needs some momentum, like Griffith and Bright. Since the DCCC funds these polls, it would be interesting to know all of the ? and not just the “who would you vote for” ? because it is virtually impossible to gauge whether these are “push type” polls or as non-partial as possible.

if they are indeed impartial, then i’d be happy to buy into their validity. until then I am a skeptic.

if you are in the know and can offer an impartial piece of wisdom, write in.

  • Anonymous in comment #2, I know of no comments that were once here and are now gone. Could you elaborate?

Are you thinking perhaps of the comment that you left under this post earlier today along with the reply that someone left afterward?

    Thank you.

  • While I am sure that John Anzalone has great influence, the power behind the throne is the genius of Zac McCrary.
I am normally a conservative Republican, but I wish that we had a great mind like Zac McCrary on our side.

#2 – why would a guy be rated so high if he is running rigged polls? Anzalone is a universally respected pollster because his numbers are “The Straight Dope.”

yes that’s the one Danny. I knew you were not pulling them on purpose since you’ve noted that there have been technical difficulties.

#5 that’s fine and you might be right but i’d like to see links and/or proof since polling is such a subjective practice.

I think the significant issue here is Anzalone’s accuracy. You don’t have to agree with him to respect his work. He is good at what he does, and is becoming better known nationally because of that.

He is one of the best in the business and I would not attempt to second guess his polling. He is right on target with his work.

John Anzalone’s success is a credit to his abilities, and to our state.

Be Careful What You Ask For

Alabama just finished one of the bizarre primary election cycles in recent memory. I mean really, who would have ever thought 12 months ago that Ron Sparks and Robert Bentley would have been facing off against one another for the big prize? Both men are personal friends but I think even they had to [...]

Regardless of Political Stripes Vote Tomorrow

As an elected official, I am tuned into voting habits and practices. Call me a political junkie, but I am fascinated by the whole electoral process—what age group votes most often, what issues motivate them and what media outlet is the most effective. While all of my interest in the political world is a hobby [...]

TRYIN’ TO CATCH UP

I’ve been in Venice on a little vacation and just returned last night.  I’ve been trying to catch up and see that there have been few dramatic events in the last 10 days.  I thought the www.fivethirtyeight.com piece was especially good, though the comments reflected the anti-Alabama knee-jerk reactions of those who live outside the [...]
