Hmmmmmm what has Bright done but raise the sales tax, have higher unemployment and is Mayor of a City that residents flee from due to poor public schools and bad crime. Yes, I am sure all the Montgomery Bright folks that are all over this blog see it differently.

And by the way – since Bright is such a leader and his own man seems like he could come out and tell us who he supports for President? Seems to me he is scared…hiding behind Pelosi’s skirt ?????? Oh wait – awww shucks – I’m just a son of a share cropper – my Momma taught me right – and did I mention I voted for that guy Huckabee? Gimme a break. Leadership and backbone anyone? Calling for some “own man” action from Bright. Silence though…
Run from your party and their platform yet take almost 1 million of their dollars. Yep – that’s a leader !!!

I wonder how many convicted felons Bobby Bright and his fellow Democrats are trying to register to vote in this election.

  • Anonymous

    Jay Love is toast. Toast.

  • Anonymous

With felon votes? I guess it depends on how hard Bright and his Democrat operatives work to get them.

    BRIGHT SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN UNTIL THURSDAY:

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO BRIGHT AND HIS FAMILY:

  • sick of half truths & lies

I saw where Bobby’s sister died. He just lost his brother about a month ago. How much can one guy take? Between this and all of the hateful, negative stuff Jay is doing, Bright has his plate full. My prayers go out to him and his whole family. They seem like such good people.

  • Anonymous

Jay is not being hateful. Be a big boy.

    Condolences to Bright’s family, however.

  • MMCMA

Good for their campaign. Bless the Bright family. How much can they take? They deserve a break from the Jay Love negativity.

  • Anonymous

You guys cannot help yourselves. You make me sick.
No comments about what the DNC is doing to Love. Typical.

  • Anonymous

These outside groups are one thing, DCCC and Freedom Watch, but we can hold our local guys to higher standards.

  • Anonymous

There could be discussions all around. Should Love’s 4 young kids hear the negative attacks? Should Bright’s death in the family cause a break in negative ads? Condolences to Bright’s family, but attack ads are part of campaigns. To blame Love is silly.

  • Anonymous

I don’t think either family needs to hear attack ads and Bright is the only one in this campaign not running them.

  • Anonymous

Thanks 112 – you really ad to the discussion. The DNC is running attack ads on behalf of Bright to the tune of 600 – 700,000. Bright knew all along this would happen. They are running and financing his campaign. Let’s all give it a rest.

  • sick of half truths & lies

I am sure you would love for everybody to give it a rest – but Jay is guilty of negative ads – not Bobby. People are sick of it.

  • Anonymous

Jay Love is using his own money to attack and also has Freedom Watch. At least Bright and the money he controls does not add to the filth on TV

  • Anonymous

Jay controls freedom’s watch yet Bright does not controll the DNC? What a joke. You guys can’t even be honest with yourselves. As has been said, give it a rest.

  • Anonymous

NEWS ALERT! Jay Love takes a break from the campaign until Thursday due to untimely passing of his congressional bid. Pallbearers were Swatecks, Canary, and Mikie Hubbard.

  • Anonymous

The only reason this is even an issue this election season is because the DNC is flush $ and the GOP is not. Bright would use his money if he needed to. Poli Sci 101.

    Let’s move along people.

  • Anonymous

Sadly the DNC has money because of whacked out Yankee and California liberals throwing cash to overthrow any common sense people with morals in Congress. Just so Bright can say he “personally” is not funding attack ads. Well duh!

If the Bright people were truly serious about this negative attack stuff, they would not be hypocritical and ask the DCCC and friends to pull their ads too.

    Hello…………….? Bueller……………..? Thought so.

  • Anonymous

Bright is not running negative ads. The DCCC ads are not in his control.
Love puts his name on the negative ads. Like Bright, Love also has no control of what his party puts on the air.
HOWEVER, Love does have control of the ads that he airs that say they are funded by him. He has funded multiple negative ads. Love even starts out one of his ads (that his campaign funded) saying that he is responsible for it! NEGATIVE LOVE!!

  • Anonymous

Love can’t control the freedom watchers, probably just like Bright can’t control the DNC. Candidates can’t control 527’s even if they wanted to. Love airs personally paid ads because he is trying to get an important message across!

  • Anonymous

Bright is a huge hypocrit. We all know it. But do you really think John Doe will see a negative ad run by the DNC and say – Oh, the DNC ran that – not that nice Bobby Bright? Heck no they do not think that. They attribute a negative ad against Love to Bright. You guys are crazy if you think otherwise.

Todd Stacy will have the last laugh!

  • Anonymous

Obviously, Todd Stacy has gotten under the Bright campaign’s skin. Keep up the good work.

  • Anonymous

Yep. Todd Stacy has gotten under Bright’s skin. Her’s a pimple on Bright’s arse. That’s a good measure of his importance.

I cannot vote in this district. However, I do keep up with the campaign online through different political sites and news sites. My vote does not count, but from everyone I know in Montgomery, I have heard what great things Bright has done for Montgomery. People seem to love him in Alabama.

Love might be a good guy, but he really needs to speak for himself and not have his people speak for him. They are not credible enough.

In any event, due to the district’s profile I think it will be a tight race.

  • Anonymous

Love’s website is extremely hateful. It seems to be written as though they want the posts to look as if they were published newspaper articles.
They are written by his campaign staff. stop the negative talk. All campaigns!

  • Anonymous

The NEWS on Jay Love’s website is intentionally misleading. It is obvious by the way the press items are laid out (they even begin with the city of origin such as MONTGOMERY in all caps) they want people to believe they are published news stories. The items are full of hate talk, inflamitory remarks and the spokesperson quoting himself!!
This is a sign of what we would have if he were elected. SAD

  • Anonymous

You guys are a bunch of nut cases. I just looked at the site and those are copies of press releases. There is nothing misleading or hateful. Are you guys new? Wow.

  • Anonymous

So many of you on here can’t see outside the City of Montgomery. Remember that Montgomery is a small part of a very large district.

  • Anonymous

I agree 130, i looked too. evidently bright’s staffers are not in the department that writes press releases. here’s a news flash for bright’s high school press team: you put the city, like “montgomery,” before the substance of the release. don’t worry guys, you’ll figure that out as you grow up.

  • Anonymous

So let me get this straight. I can say:

“Jay Love is on a ticket with John McCain and Jeff Sessions. Jay Love is supported by the Republican party. Jay Love is running on the Republican ticket which has a conservative Republican party platform. Jay Love will vote for a Republican Speaker of the House and Republican leadership. Jay Love is proud to say he supports John McCain for President to help run this Country with the next Congress” Is that hateful or lies? No.

    Now I can say:

“Bobby Bright is on a ticket with Barack Obama and Vivian Figures. Bobby Bright is running on the Democrat ticket that has a less than conservative Democrat party platform. Bobby Bright will vote for a Democrat Speaker of the House and a Democrat leadership team. Bobby Bright refuses to say who he thinks should help the Congress run this Country as the next President of the United States.”

Now all of the sudden that is hateful and lies. TRULY AMAZING how Bright supporters think.

    Teams matter.

  • Anonymous

And dare I say Bright is supported by Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel and the majority of his money comes from Howard Dean’s Democrat National Committee? All true but all the sudden……OH THE LIES – OH THE HATE!!! Teams do matter.

  • Anonymous

So Jay Love supports John McCain and will vote for a Republican Speaker… alot of good that will do for us. Come 2009, there will NOT be a Republican Speaker and John McCain will NOT be President.

I can only imagine how effective Jay Love will be as a back bencher in the minority party. I think that Bobby Bright who is pro-gun, pro-life, has fought for lower taxes, and tougher penalties on illegal immigration would be much better equiped to fight for our values in the majority party.

  • Anonymous

Seniority is what matters, not majority or minority party. Bright and Love would be on equal footing int hat regard. So get real. And don’t fool yourself or anyone else that Bright will not be under the thumb of the liberal dem leadership. They are spending almost 1 million on his campaign…and it is not so he can be elected and then vote like a conservative.

  • sickofthenonsense

    # 130 I looked at them also. Those are not press releases, they are propoganda, misrepresentations of facts, poorly written, not very convincing, and just plumb crapola. My 6-year old grandson could do better. So, stop blowing smoke up my conservative skirt. Please vote McCain/Palin/Sessions/Bright.

  • Anonymous

Those ARE NOT news articles. They are lousy press releases that were ignored by the press and now are disguised as news. In other words, just type something up, truth or not, and put it on the website like it accounts for something. They are inflamatory and full of trash.

  • Anonymous

Post 137 and 138…..Yawn. How old are you? “Crapola” Classic Bright suporter.

NO to BARACK and BRIGHT….now that is No Crapola!

140 – no matter how many times you say – scream it – want everyone to believe it. It doesn’t make it so. Bright must feel the heat based on all the silly postings on here.

When Bright has the backbone to say who he supports for President instead of running from his own party and those that are paying for his campaign…let us all know. If he is really his own man….he can easily show it.

  • Anonymous

Hey #141 – very ironic choice of words there – “no matter how many times you say it – scream it – want everyone to believe it, It doesn’t make it so.”

Like Jay’s claim that he cut taxes when the record clearly shows he did no such thing?

    :-)

  • Anonymous

Hmmmm – has Bright cut taxes? Best I recall he lobbied to raise sales taxes in Montgomery and when he could have vetoed the increase, he didn’t. He is thrilled with the 10% tax rate!

  • Anonymous

We need a new thread. This one has turned to “crapola” !

“Oh what a tangled web we weave/When first we practice to deceive.”

Unfortuntaly Jay Love never learned that bit of verse . . . .

  • Anonymous

Jay Love has not deceived. If anyone has weaved a tangled web just look at the financial supporters of Bobby Bright’s campaign. Seems to me he can’t get out of their liberal web!

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama is running an ad that says lack of health insurance is the number one cause of bankrupcy. Jay Love states that his employees are almost all “part-time” workers and not eligible for insurance benefits. This is the same excuse given by Wal-Mart for not providing insurance. Management makes sure the employees work less than 40 hours per week, which makes them “ineligible.” Yes, the Waltons and the Loves would have fewer millions of dollars if they provided health insurance — but you and I would have a few more dollars. When the uninsured are bankrupted by their unpaid medical bills, who pays them? You and I do through increased fees for us who are insured. I am tired of carrying Wal-mart’s and Love employees’ medical bills when the employers should step up and do what is morally right.
