Unfortunately, borrowing from the trust funds requires no political courage, while budget/tax reforms require folks to actually do something that might cost a legislative seat or three and tick off the donor base.

What I don't get is this: If Bobby Bright feels so strongly against political parties, then why did he run as a Democrat and not an Independent? He could easily have gotten enough signatures solely out of Montgomery to get on the ballot.

VOTE NO on robbing the offshore trust fund to cover up the over spending in Montgomery. (I know you will argue that it is a downturn in revenue causing the proration, but we all know how they spend money like drunken sailors down there with very little regard for actual revenue projections. The good thing about drunken sailors is that most of them spend their OWN money!)

Until we have budget reform on Goat Hill these "borrowing" episodes will never end. As long as that large pot of money sits out there the Montgomery elite (Rs and Ds) will have NO incentive to really budget the tax money we already give them.

Just say NO!
