In other news, Ralph Nader the perpetual candidate appeared in Montgomery to kick off a ballot petition.

What kind of top notch researchers will come to UAB when they learn that the president of the university will monitor their computer use and fire them if they actively support an inquiry into political persecution of Don Siegelman? That one political firing, covered by The Chronicle of Higher Education, has done more damage to UAB than $100,000,000,000 in research recruitment money can overcome.

  • Common Sense

AG King boosts top aides salaries… you have got to be kidding me.

  • Acorn Steve

JW Godwin, a year out of college, no law school, goes everywhere with king and makes almost 60 grand a year. Would “meteoric rise” be too strong a term?
Wonder what he did to earn that kind of cash?

The Birmingham News story on Troy is the gay story, slightly cleaned up. Anybody else notice how the story dripped with innuendo about Troy and Godwin?

All of you people – Susan – who said there was no proof to anything . . .there it is in newsprint. Satisfied?

It is out there now. The firestorm begins anew.

For everybody waiting for the other shoe to drop in the Troy King gay rumor, Troy’s Manolo stilleto hit the pavement with this morning’s “Birmingham News.”

pecan jim, give the conspiracy theories a rest, that guy was researching his little blog, he knows it, you know it, etc…folks like you can pull a conspiracy out of every situation in your lives, guess everyones a victim, why take responsibility for your actions when you can blame some one…

  • Antisthenes

The parallels between the Birmingham News story and the McGreevey/Cipal story are eery. Cipal had zero experience for his job as appears to be the case here, and the official word from the New Jersey Governor’s office regarding Cipal’s job duties were similiar to what the AG’s office had to say — constituent services and liason. Both were/are overpaid for their work. Both traveled with their boss on out of town trips.

Anybody wonder why the Birmingham News was investigating J.W. Godwin’s salary? Seems like they were awfully interested in one partcular new hire at the AG’s office.

Does anybody on here believe we have heard the last of this story?

  • Anyone wanna start an office pool on when Troy King resigns?

Ang by the way.. who’s this?

  • Antisthenes

King will not resign even if the rumors prove to be true. What future would he have? He will finish out his term.

  • Senator Larry Craig

I’ll have you know that Troy King is every bit as straight as I am!

  • walt moffett

Dunno know about that Antisthenes, somewhere he will make a fine city attorney with a side line in real estate law and workmen’s comp cases.

  • Antisthenes

Walt, do you honestly believe his ego would allow him to settle for that?

I saw something funny that I think should – by all means – be encouraged: someone on another blog suggested using “troyking” as a new verb for hypocritical opposition to something, as in “Jimmy Swaggart was troyking when he railed against pornography!” A form of “troyking” could be “to troyk” as in “Jay Love troyked today about honesty in campaign ads, but George Jones yelled ‘Jay Love, you are troyking when you talk about being honest!’ . . .”

What do you guys think? Let’s make sure all the pols who are troyking out there are labeled and ridiculed!

  • walt moffett

Antisthenes, bills have got to be paid, kids sent to college, etc after you break camp at Buck’s Pocket. A stay there seems to console the now out of power.

  • Anonymous

Troy King will never resign. He needs the job and must have some way to pay alimony.
