Rove in Writing Denies Everything

Filed under: AL Executive Branch, National Politics — Danny @ 4:50 pm

Before I get caught up on all the hot Rove, Siegelman, and House Judiciary action that I am admittedly behind on, I see this at TPMMuckraker at Talking Points Memo this afternoon:

Karl Rove has categorically denied any involvement whatsoever, either directly or indirectly, in the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, in written responses to questions from the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, entered into the Congressional record today and obtained this afternoon by TPMmuckraker.

He defies a Congressional subpoena, claims executive privilege excuses him from testifying under oath, but will write it all out for the House Judiciary in a letter. Which is available at TPMMuckraker.

Hat tip to reader M.

  1. Just a note that a careful reading reveals that Bill Canary and Rob Riley are not in the categories of people that Rove denies talking too. And if I recall his early statements about Valerie Plame have been shown to be out and out lies, although, also not under oath.
