Rogers and Heart on TV
Republican incumbent Mike Rogers dips into his sizable campaign treasury and begins airing an ad on broadcast TV in AL-03 this week. The ad has already been available on his website and has been running on cable TV. It’s available here for download as a Quicktime (.mov) file.
The district has a fairly even partisan split, and you can definitely see him leaning toward the middle with this one. His commercial tells you that he feels your economic pain, he’s green, and he bucks the GOP (for the little guy, no less).
Also... Rogers' opponent, Democratic nominee Josh Segall, takes his swings with a new website called Washington Changed Mike.

When internet campaigns may work in some districts, there is still a need to get out and kiss hands, shake babies and be seen by the voters. Has either candidate done that yet?

I love the part of Mike’s video where they said “he stood up to his own party”.
Yeah he stood up to his own party on CAFTA, S-CHIP and the GI-Bill.
Mikey is in for the run of his life.

Mike was at a fundraiser in Mobile when Josh was at a Memorial Day event in Montgomery. I guess you can’t support the troops when you vote against helping them.

So, neither candidate has made public appearance in just under two months. Guess they are saving their energy to shop the back to school sales.

I’m sure each of them are making plenty of public appearances.

Thank you “progressive electorate” for your comments. Just one question: as a “progressive” I assume that you adamantly support barack obama? If so, how do the “progressives” view those “democrats in name only” that do not and will not support obama? Segall is avoiding obama just like bobby and parker griffith, surely this must be a little frustrating to the “progressives” who are blindly cashing it all in for “change” - or is it just a campaign based on “anyone but a republican?”. If that is the case, then the very premise that you stand on is as flawed as the candidates that you claim to support.these democrats like segall should really bother you, they don’t buy in to “obamamania” for some reason, why? If little josh has the stones that he claims to have, and can stand up as an independent, then why is there a “d” behind his name instead of an “I.” “Progressives” are full of sh!t, that’s why…

To have Bobby Bright in the 2nd and Josh Segall in the 3rd would be a major improvement from Terry Everett and Mike Rogers in my opinion.
Both of these candidates are going to need strong turnout to win.
Look we are talking about Alabama seats. One that leans Republican and one that is a little more Democratic.

I agree a hundred percent with Progressive Electorate on his last post. Both Bright and Segal are good men with strong beliefs and morals. Both would make great statesmen for the great state of Alabama, if elected to Congress.

Progressive Democrat is either a liar or very uninformed. Mike Rogers was in Montgomery laying a wreath on Memorial Day. A simply Google Search proved your claim false.
Alabamians Remember Fallen Heroes
May 26, 2008
Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) — As the nation paused on Memorial Day, Alabamians
followed suit. Many bowed their heads in prayer for the military men and
women who lost their lives.
In Prattville, residents gathered at the Autauga County Courthouse. Many in
attendance had just gotten back from the area’s first Honor Flight.
“I just wanted to go down there and see some of my friends–some of my
Veterans–and enjoy the memorial that they have for us and all veterans,”
said Jim Gardner, a World War II veteran.
In Montgomery, Congressman Mike Rogers laid a wreath at the city’s V.A.
hospital, while the Capital Sounds Concert Band played military tunes for
veterans and their families.
“When we think about the enormous sacrifices that so many families in this
country have made over the course of our history, you can’t help but be
humbled,” Rogers explained.
It wasn’t just the older generations that said, ‘thank you’ during this
year’s holiday.

http://www.washingtonchangedmike.com/ - You seen it yet. There is where Progressive Electorate gets his info. I’m sure Segall would not have put that out there if he wasn’t able to back it up.
Other Facts you Cannot Deny
1. Rogers voted for CAFTA after “consulting with Avondale Mills”. Not what a year later Avondale Mills closed.
2. Mike Rogers voted against the GI Bill

well lucy, in this case you are wrong (i know democrats can not grasp that concept), but rogers was actually at a fundraiser on tuesday, not monday. again, guess if you or josh or obama or bobby or griffith or “insert name of democrat here” say that it’s true, then we must trust you, and we must really trust you if you make a video about it. but when called on it, you’ll launch in to some diatribe about why shouldn’t people trust democrats, george bush created $4 gas and killed all of our troops on purpose. unbelievable. think i’ll start a website, www.anonymouslucysaiditsoitmustbetrue.com -

Democrat Sheep,
Mike Rogers has still not issued a retraction for misleading the public into thinking that China is drilling for oil off the coast of Cuba.
