Bright’s TV Ad, Montgomery Version

Filed under: Campaign & Election, AL and DC — Danny @ 4:07 pm

Bobby Bright has a Montgomery version of the ad that has already been running in Dothan. Still 60 seconds.

I’ll not embed it, as some browsers seemed not to handle that well, but you can download it here. It’s a Quicktime (.mov) file.

  1. I notice the Montgomery version makes no mention of Bright cutting taxes, unlike the Dothan version Danny posted about a week ago. That’s because people in Montgomery know that Bright RAISED our sales tax to 10%, one of the highest rates in the entire nation. His campaign knows he’d get laughed out of Montgomery if his ad said anything about cutting taxes.

Compare the Montgomery version to the Dothan version posted here: http://www.politicalparlor.net/wp/2008/07/17/al-02-bright-spot-in-dothan/

Of course, his Montgomery ad also says he reduced crime and created jobs as Mayor. Whoever does his media must not live in Montgomery, that’s for sure.

  2. Does Bobby not know that the NBC affliate that we have here in the Dothan area is WSFA. Does he not think that we can’t see through his game. In fact, I personally watch WSFA more than WTVY.

Playing one song to one crowd and playing another song to another crowd is typical of Bobby “LIBERAL” Bright.

We see through you Bobby. We know how you’ve raised taxes in Montgomery to one of the highest in the country. Believe me, my Montgomery friends let me hear that all the time. Bobby, you and your “tax and spend” “LIBERAL” friends in congress are not what we want representing us here in district 2.

I’ll bet the Love campaign will not show one commercial in Montgomery and another in Dothan. He is a man of convictions who has one message to deliver to ALL of the citizens of district 2.

    Shame on you Bobby!

  3. I’d rather have someone who has raised taxes like Bobby than any Republican on the ballot. Go Bobby!

  4. Love is a man of convictions, a man of Mike Hubbard’s convictions. In fact he is a man of such strong convictions that he must read from a prepared speech, which I can ensure that he didn’t write.

By the way, Jay Love won’t have enough money this fall to even play two separate ads if he’d wished. Fund raising and national support is starting to diminish for Jay Love. What he needs is some support from the AG, Troy King. Will Gov. Riley endorse Love, will it be Bright or will he stay neutral? The complexity of Alabama politics is comparable to rocket science.

Love should have stuck to selling sandwiches.

  5. I saw where Bobby signed a positive campaign pledge. That seals it, I’m for him!

  6. Why does Bright not want to talk about taxes in Montgomery? Why the two exact same ads except that one distinction? What’s wrong Bobby, why don’t you want to talk about taxes in Montgomery? Probably the same reason he doesn’t want to talk about Nancy Pelosi.

  7. #4 Hubbard rhymes with Hubbert and no doubt Love is the consummate “yes man” or patsy for the GOP apparatchik (i.e. he’s never had an original thought), but check Love’s support for or bowing to the knee of the educrat industry.

  8. Give me a break,
Sales tax in Montgomery is indeed 10%. But, you can’t hold Bright solely responsible. The combined sales tax was 9% until Montgomery County added the last penny to get the tax to 10%. Bright was mayor when the Montgomery City Council (they have taxing authority) raised the city sales tax in 2002. Since then, the citizens of Montgomery have re-elected Bright twice. Apparently, the voters may not like the tax rate, but they don’t hold Bright responsible.
    Now, go back to al.com.

  9. These ads look good; if any Dem can win this district, it is Bobby Bright. He may even peel off some Harri Anne voters.

  10. Re; #6

To put it very bluntly TNS, you and your buddy LD can both keep ranting and raving about Bobby, but people who truly know Bobby aren’t buying into your negative posts. They are nothing short of typical political ploys conjured up to discredit ones campaign efforts.

Surprise, in case you are not aware of it you are only making a huge butt out of yourselves. Allegations are simply just that and anyone can make them. They don’t hold water TNS so I recommend you write your em down and read em silently to yourself!

BTW, he is picking up strong support all across the district. Go Bright

  11. It is strange to me that the peopl that cry loudest is the ones that have nothing to help others. They just pick on the ones trying to help.
