The Alabama Line is being updated and will return perhaps as soon as the first week of February. The Alabama Line and its contents are the creation of Doc’s Political Parlor, reflect consensus from insiders and well-connected folks on both sides of the aisle, and will be updated as conditions change. this is running in dothan as well. it is true – she has missed a lot of forums and also walked out in the middle of one debate and was a no show for the only televised debate.
This smacks of desperation, Danny. Schmidtke cannot win. He apparently thinks he is the other “Wiregrass candidate” so if he hurts Harri Anne he will profit.
Wrong. He’s no more the “Wiregrass candidate” than Pee Wee Herman would be.
He is a Wisconsin Yankee. He was NEVER going to win this seat.
Stick a fork in Schmidtke. He will NOT win this eat EVER.
And now he has attacked a woman – and the Wiregrass’ only hope to retain this seat.
He needs to see if he can move NOW because he has no future in Dothan.
Dear Comment 2, nice attitude.
You over estimate Harri Anne Smith’s popularity and you under estimate both Schmidtke and Woods ability to take votes from her in her own back yard. She is struggling to make the run off.
What has she been doing this whole time? Obviously not campaigning. Why miss 14 forums? I thought candidates liked that kind of stuff because it was free publicity.
schmidtke has run the best campaign. smith could have wrapped this up months ago had she hired quality consultants, not the retreads she actually hired. Schmidtke has smart, effective TV ads. Harri Anne Smith is the Bobby Bright of the Republican Party. Just too dumb to send to congress. Anyone see the skull and cross bones warning label on the bottom of her direct mail piece?
#5 I couldn’t agree more. It is amazing that some of these consultants are actually being paid to lose campaign after campaign. She was the far and away front runner in this race but her laziness, arrogance, and terrible campaign consultant are going to keep her out of the run-off. She should be embarrassed.
By the way, that is a great ad by Schmidtke. I don’t think it will get him in the runoff but it ensures that Harri Anne is done in this race which is the best thing that could happen for the Republican Party. Bright may not be the best candidate but he would destroy Smith.
That ad is a complete and total pile of bullschmidtke
You want to talk about bull crap #7. Let’s talk about Harri Anne’s husband showing up to a political debate in Enterprise, May 22 in his military uniform. Lets forget for just a moment that this was one of the few she actually showed up to and lets talk about the stunt her and her husband pulled. Col. Charles E. Smith showed up in his military uniform at about 7:30. He walk in just as Harri Anne was speaking and she stopped answering the question just to point out that her husband was in his uniform and she was so proud of him and his service. As if she was saying anything intelligent, but what impeccable timing. Ok yes he has served in the Army, but so had the other veterans and active servicemembers that were their in their civies. Let me tell you ladies and gents this is a direct ethics violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice or UCMJ. Soldiers are not allowed to show their support for a candidate in uniform. Out of uniform is one thing but not in uniform. There have already been several complaints filed with the military demanding an investigation into the matter. Now the most important part of the whole incident is that Mr. Smith is not even an ACTIVE member of the military. He is a member of the Individual Ready Reserve or IRR. But when he explains his service he tries to make it sound like he is active but if you do your homework you too will discover the truth. So now the question is WHAT THE HELL was he doing in his uniform that late in the evening on a week day at a political debate when he shouldn’t have even been in the uniform in the first place? That’s two strikes. The answer is political propaganda. He should have known better being a full bird Col and all. But he tried to use his uniform to pander to the military vote. How disrespectful to the Army and the uniform. There are soldiers that wake up every morning and put their uniforms on for the right reasons. There are soldiers overseas dying in their Army uniforms and Mr. Smith put his on just to help his wife get elected to an office that she does not deserve. Also he told several individuals that evening he was doing work on Fort Rucker. If that was the case why did it take him 2 1/2 hours to get to an event 15 minutes away from post. If he was doing work then he had plenty of time to change because everyone knows the work day ends between 4 and 5:30. So I did some further investigation and found out that too was a lie. He has also violated another rule of the military and that is wearing your uniform in printed or broadcasted material without permission. HE has been in her commercials, push cards and home mailers. That’s three strikes Mr. Ret. Col. Charlie Smith. That is bull shit and as an Army wife it is my duty to make sure everyone knows it. My husband and I are supporting Dr. Craig Schmidtke who will be where he is suppose to be when he is suppose to be there. He will fight to increase much needed military funding so we can win the War on Terror. He will also fight to protect all military bases with in the Second Congressional district of Alabama and he won’t use political propaganda to get ahead in life nor will he embarrass us in Washington. Vote Dr. Craig Schmidtke June 3rd.
Vote Craig Schmidtke so that he no longer has to be a drain on his wife’s family money. He has a retired general that claims to know him so well yet can’t pronounce his name. Schmidtke is a carpet bagger. He has told a group that without a doubt he wsa the most educated person in the room. What a slap in the face. He came home to take care of his sick father in law? I think there were 11 million other reason$ he came home, maybe he should change his name to Craig $chmidtke. He tells everyone how great Vail is, why doesn’t he go back to his beloved Vail and try to be their Congressman?
Money, you want to talk money? why don’t we talk about how Harri A$$ used state funds for her federal campaign and got slapped with a huge fine. but for some unknown reason the media just turned and looked the other way. I think she is a drain on our hard earned tax dollars. but at least she doesn’t support our tax dollars going to illegal immigrants. For english press one. para espanol press dos, Fer slocomb pres threeee. Oh but if she is elected at least ya’ll will have us a tomater on evre sandwich. WTF, I don’t even like tomatos. Washington doesn’t need a little more slocomb or a redneck uneducated hick like Harri Anne.
