Love did poorly again. Only raised $84K, then put in another $49K of his own. Wondering how Smith and Woods did.

Real talk, why don't you go check this little thing called an FEC report. Smith raised a boatload of money last quarter and I am curious if she was able to keep up the momentum. Love had a lackluster report last time, but also keep in mind the Republicans have a crowded field. Democrats on the other side have an unknown dentist and a Liberal Nutjob running against the mayor of the Capitol City, he should be raising money hand over fist (especially with help from his friend Rahm and Steny).

Publius is definitely a "the world is crumbling around me" type person. Best part though is everyone who read his posts are very well aware of that. Always negative on Bright or anyone else that is proactive and desires change. He is bitter in his outlook in general! Anyone who pays attention to his posts can see that he is abrasive, beligerant, argumentative, even to himself and fights with every single issue! Need to get with the program cause change is whats happening,,,,

Publius, your vitriol is laughable in its obviousness.

Can you come up with anything positive to say, or do you just hate Democrats so much your blinding rage gets in the way of being rational?

Also, isn't $75K more than Jay or Harri Anne raised in the first 3 months of being in the race?

During the April 29th Debate Bright came off a bit pretentious and kind of dull to me. "I have been promised things from people very high up if I am elected" turned me off in a huge way. I don't like the idea of secrets you don't think the voters deserve to know. His twice used argument "It will be a Democratic Majority so vote for me" makes sense - after all, the only thing a Republican is going to be able to do in 2009 is vote "Nay" in protest (interestingly, John Martin(R) made this his entire platform with his closing speech: "I will not work with Democrats! Never!") - but still, I'd rather a candidate that was at least a little inspiring, and "Vote for the majority" just isn't that exciting of an argument.

I guess you have to take what you can get.

54k is pitiful by anyone's standards for an incumbent politician. 75K from Beasley is chump change. It is comical to professionals to watch you Montgomery wannabe's defend this charade. Bright is not trusted by anyone in Montgomery. Beasley hosting an event for him is simple downtown development payback. I guess Perkins and Kennedy will have their daycare center payback event later. Bright has as much business being in congress as Don Siegelman and Nick Bailey getting blessed by the Pope.

Nationally, have no problems seeing the R's donors cut their losses and move to the D column. In the wiregrass, dunno know, looks like it could be a urban vs rural fight like the Childress election was.

$54,000 in three weeks is not anemic, it's expected. I know many people throughout the district that report getting personal calls from Mayor Bright asking for support. He sounds like a humble public servant to me!

I would bet good money on Bright having more in his accounts than any of the Republicans post run off.
