re: Rove offering an unsworn, written response — not testimony
If he feels beyond the grasp of a Congressional subpoena, why reply at all?
Remember Rove is a PR goon. He knows how to build interest in what ever swill he wants to feed the masses. The other side builds some publicity, he figures out a way to get everyone to listen to what he wants to say without putting himself at risk.
you can see twinkle’s ads on her website

Huck is the man!
Hucakbee raised alot of taxes when he was Governor, right? And let loose a lot of felons?
BlueDog,
Hucakbee only turned lose those felons who suckered a preacher into vouching for them. Unfortunately, those preachers were not as good a judge of character as Hucakbee thought they were.
Twinkle is Nancy Worley with fewer qualifications . . .
Huckabee did raise taxes a lot – and utility rates skyrocketed (he appointed all ther pSC commissioners – who then raised the rates. Sweet deal for the utilities, and for Huck who they rewarded with lots of gifts). I wonder if Twinkle knows Huckabee’s actual record? Oh wait – Twinkle doesn’t bother with facts when she can get her pic made with a celebrity. I hear that Twinkle is getting an endorsement from Paris Hilton next week . . .
[Edited.]
In Arkansas, Huckabee hand-picked the PSC commissioners. They were all political appointees. Hey, Twinkle and Huckabee have this deal backwards – SHE should move to Arkansas so he can handpick her for PSC! Maybe Jay Love can move out there too to get hand-picked and Mike Hubbard can run for gov to do the handpicking! And Alabama would be rid of Hubbard, Love and Twinkle!!!!!
Oh man that would be such a good thing for Alabama . . .
sure am glad all you folks who are dogging twinkle’s weight are perfect. stick to the issues people.
Fair enough point #8. Unfortunately Twinkle doesn’t HAVE any issues to campaign on for PSC. “Pro-life” has nothing to do with the election. She can’t campaign on her record – she doesn’t have one. She is balatantly unqualified for the job she seeks.
Please send Zeb Little, Roger Bedford, Lowell Barron, Paul Hubbert, and Joe Reed to Arkansas too.
Ugh — more venomous rantings from the anti-Twinkle malcontents. Considering Huckabee won the Alabama primary, that’s a worthwhile endorsement in a low profile, down-ticket race. As for her qualifications, I must have been in another dimension when the PSC was stacked with utility wonks who filled each day with insightful exchanges about the merits of different regulatory frameworks. Who knew Jan Cook was such an informed and engaged public servant? I am certain that Lucy will be another star in that constellation of wisdom.
Jack Hornady is unquestionably the best candidate for PSC. I am sorry, Pachyderm, but there is no rational argument for voting for Twinkle over Hornady. None.
Why did Huckabee mention that Twinkle was “pro-life?” Does that have anything to do with the PSC?
Of course not. That is worthless info in this particular race, and Twinkle is paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to spread it on the airwaves. It is completely irrelevant – and she is spending thousands upon tghosands of dollares for it. How’s that for “cost-effective leadership?”
Once again, Twinkle’s message betrays her complete lack of qualifications for the position sought – and an arrogant disinterest in the real issues affecting the PSC.
