John I agree that we have two candidates raising funds for an agressive campaign. But that should be of zero value to voters.

This job SHOULD be filled by someone who is qualified. You will notice I said SHOULD as I am not naive enough to think that political money doeesn't usually decide these things. But consumers are not well served when politicians fill this position.

I would hope that voters will vote for the best cndidate -and that is clear in this election - regardless of how much political money they raise.

Will that happen? I do not know. But we owe it to ourselves to suppoprt the best candidate for this state and that's Hornady.

Please know that I have a high opinion of Jack Hornaday. I agree that he is uniquely qualified.
Here is my one concern--two years ago, Hornaday had all of the newspaper endorsements, but his campaign was invisible.
Twinkle Cavanaugh and Matt Chancey are raising funds for an aggressive campaign. Is the Hornaday campaign active?
No questions on Horaday's character and qualifications-- let's just see how serious is his candidacy.

I don't know much about Twinkle personally other than she has been very involved politically. I would guess that John's opinion of her is grounded in fact. Matt Chancey does seem like a fine young fellow. However, the end analysis on this position is not difficult. Jack Hornady is by far the most qualified.

If this position was - by nature - a political one, then Twinkle and/or Chancey could make a stronger case for consumers to "hire" them. But this job is professional and administrative. Twinkle and Chancey quite frankly would not meet any minimum requirements for a position like this in the "real world" while Jack Hornady not only meets the minimun requirements, but exceeds them. And I have read each candidates' bio carefully before making that statement.

And John I would guess I agree with you 99% of the time - just not on this one.

You may have good reason to disagree with Twinkle politically, but by all accounts, she is a fine person and a committed Christian.
The Republicans have three good candidates for PSC President. Any of them are preferable to Lucy Baxley for PSC President.
Having spoken well of Twinkle, may I also express respect for Jack Hornaday and support for the candidacy of Matt Chancey www.mattchancey.com

There are those that would argue that working for the government hardly qualifies as "gainful employment" :-) But, I'm not going to agree with them.

However, he's going to have to do more to show that he's not in the back-pocket of the utilities. It's hard to overcome that label when you were on their payroll for 20 years.

I noticed that Twinkle's strategy is to post pictures of herself with well-known people of ACTUAL accomplishment to make herslf appear to have real qualifications - much like her political idol Perry Hooper, Jr. used to do to make himself look competent. So she is planning to go get her picture made with Jack Hornady . . . .

Kind of funny that you tell "Hornady" - the only candidate in this race who actually has HAD actual gainful employment in his life and has not spent his entire career in appointed political positions or advocating for pressure groups - to do something "useful." I would contend that two decades of service to this state on the PSC (in a professional capacity) and two more decades of work for an actual utilty are useful.
