  1. The sad part is that someone got paid for coming up with that idea. On the bright side, at least he wasn’t trying to tell you how great of a christian he is.

  5. First of all, I’ll have to rewatch it. Nothing said Christian to me. If anything, it’s cute. Secondly, I can’t help but think about what cost he paid to have this done at the local TV station and if that service will be provided to all the candidates? Caught me on a cynical day, which, on further thought, seem to come more often as of late.

  6. local tv station? are you wahcked out? i am sure he paid for that just like all candidates pay to have their ads done. and the blogger was saying it was nice he wasn’t talking about what a christian he is like other candidates do multiple times in one ad. Wake up man.

  7. Plus his name is probably hard to say to people around here, it might be easier for people to say back hom in the Midwest.

Yeah, because he is married to the Jewish Nombergs. Are you guys not paying attention to anything, or are you just B.S.ing? At least attempt to know who these people are, what they come from, and who they have ties with.

  9. So, he is married to someone that is Jewish so we can’t vote for him? Glad to know you are no longer in the backwards post #8.

  11. Sorry I only check out information on contenders. I heard enough of his biography to find out his time in the District was 3 years and I gave up.

  14. I don’t give a Schmidtke what you think of me!

  15. Some might say that I am a Schmidtke candidate, and my chances of winning are Schmidtke. I would say that all the money I am spending on my campaign is a very Schmidtke investment. But wait tll you get a load of my new campaign slogan:

    Schmidtke Happens.

  16. that is amazing.

  19. I am amazed that Craig is down in the dirt with you guys. If I were Craig, I would have hired a campaign manager that would have kept the campaign on a positive beat.

    Comment by Fitz — April 27, 2008 @ 9:32 pm

  20. I am sure thats not the real Craig.

  21. Carpet bagger: “Today the dictionary defines a Carpetbagger as ‘ an outsider involved in politics’”.

What part of this speaks any word of truth towards Schmidtke being a carpet bagger? Does the old saying that you can’t help where you come from not hold any truth these days?

I submit to you that probably 60% of the citizens in the state of Alabama weren’t born here, but moved here through work, school, the milirary, etc., and they decided to live, and stay here. I would think that if he just moved to the area there might be a sense of “carpet bagging”, but to move your life, your family, and your means of income to an area takes more intestinal fortitude than sitting behind your keyboard pointing fingers. The people who are trash talking this man are the same people who always gripe about the situation, but never do a darn thing about it. You don’t listen to what anyone has to say, and when you do you are so caught up in trying to think of something smart to say back to them, that nothing sinks in. I have a family, and I want to make sure that my family is represented by someone honest, hardworking, faithful, and very simply smarter than the other bufoons out there running for this seat. I can’t see where any of you wouldn’t at least lend an ear to this man for one second, and let him at least speak on the issues. Or are you all too scared of positive change? That’s it isn’t it? You are all happy with paying way too much for gas, happy with the high costs of insurance and the fact that your perscription drugs are about to go up again. You’re all happy with the way that Washington is spending our tax dollars aren’t you? Well, guess what, if you think for one second that the other candidates could give a rat’s … about you, think again. They’ll take what they need from the voters, then head off into the world of the big wigs, and won’t look back. You want a man of integrity, a man of faith, and a man of his word to represent you, then guess what, Schmidtke is your man. He is nobody’s pawn, and he is nobody’s puppet. He is what he is, and that is that. So go ahead and make comments, remarks, whatever, but if he doesn’t win and you are sitting there counting your pocket change to buy groceries or medecine, don’t gripe one bit. You were the one too afraid to pull the handle for the right guy.

  22. Schmidtke is the only one in the race with a chance to win that is not a professional politician. Even David Woods started his professional politician career as a paid Pageboy for the Congress at age 14 and has been a professional political operative and lobbyist for special interests in the broadcasting industry for years.
