In the state’s U.S. Senate race, Republican incumbent Jeff Sessions leads Democratic challenger Vivian Figures by 21 percentage points, 57% – 36%, in a poll released this week by Rasmussen Reports. Who knew anybody was polling this?
Could anything make this race competitive? Lanny Young on a witness stand? Doesn’t seem likely.

Sessions has it made. Total cake walk.
40% is the Mondale Line. (Like .200 is the Mendoza Line in baseball.)
40% is the amount Mickey Mouse or Marilyn Manson would get as the Dim nominee for something.
Vivian, at 36%, is not even minimally competent as a candidate.
The fact that nobody North of Mobile County has ever heard of Senator Figures and she still got 36% is pretty amazing. Once she starts campaigning she will jump to 45%. Just not sure that Session will ever fall to below 53% though.
