  • Regarding the Daily Sentinel Article concerning ex-Jackson County sheriff Mike Wells. Hopefully the $185,000 mentioned is an error. But even so the $70,000 in Pistol Permit funds should have been utilized for local law enforcement usage, it was not. Mr. Odell’s credibility was seriously damaged when he failed to investigate or order an autopsy of the unusual, sudden, untimely death of Dekalb Co Probate Judge Paul Thomas. Judge Thomas death occured immediately prior to his being called to testify concerning a 2004 Dekalb & Cherokee County Federal Investigation concerning local governmental corruption in waste disposal.
