One reader expects that Democratic political consultant Steve Raby, rather than running for AL-05, will end up working in some capacity in Parker Griffith’s campaign for the seat. The somewhat cynical idea may be that if your ultimate objective is to work in a campaign what better way to find an ‘in’ than to show yourself as an obstacle (i.e., a competing candidate) that could be removed without great difficulty.

I hear Raby is not running. It is a shame because he has always wanted something like this. He could be big help to Griffith, but this guy is too old.
Funny the stuff that goes around. I hear that Raby and Griffith are good friends. If that is true, it doesn’t surprise me that Raby would wait and help Griffith win the seat. Then Raby can run for Griffith’s seat in the Senate.
