I guess you have to have been a republican hack/staffer (like jo bonner) in order to be qualified to be a good congressman.

Being a COS and brilliant falls in with being a good hack. Still doesn’t make him a great Congressman. I don’t really have a thesis for why he would be that bad, I’m just saying the declaration that he would have been good in Congress seems a little premature.

He was Chief of Staff to a Senator (Heflin), and if you know him, you know he’s a very good person and a brilliant guy.

What on earth makes Raby qualified to be in Congress? He’s just a political hack. I mean, he’s a good political hack but that’s no basis for saying he would be a great Congressman.

He may have made a great Congressman, but he had very low name ID. With a two-month sprint to the Primary staring him in the face, I guess he decided he didn’t have enough time to boost his numbers.

That is bad news for Alabama. Steve Raby would have been a great Congressman. Maybe in a couple of years when Parker follows the Riley path to the Governor’s Mansion Steve can run then.
