Update on AL-05 Candidates

Filed under: Campaign & Election, AL and DC — Danny @ 10:51 am

Alabama with the 5th Congressional District highlightedOn the Republican side, Arthur Orr is out, and Tom Young is out, according to a GOP insider. Mo Brooks tell the Parlor he is still “wrestling with the decision,” contradicting a rumor heard here that he was out.

On the Democratic side, Parker Griffith and Susan Parker continue to show indications that they are preparing for campaigns. Someone close to the Susan Parker camp tells the Parlor that she is “strongly inclined to run.” Related… an online petition urges Susan Parker to run for Congress.

More on these AL-05 candidates and others can be found here in yesterday’s post from Chauncey Sparks.

  1. Griffith needs to wait and run for Lt. Gov. or something else. He being 66 years of age is to old to start out as a freshman in Congress and he may run for statewide offince in a few years and that is not good for the 5th district.
