First Special Order Calendar for the House

Both chambers of the legislature start off with a Regular Calendar. The Regular Order Calendar is basically all bills in the order in which they came out of committee. Once the session moves along, the Rules Committee of each chamber starts to create its own “Special Order Calendar.”  The Special Order Calendar is the new order of business each day that decides when bills will be voted on. Below is a summary of the first Special Order Calendar for the House.  I think the Senate has already had a couple of Special Orders for the session already.

Shoot. I was hoping to see the Gourmet Beer Bill on there.

  • Dan, I think fom my understanding the Special Order calendar is going to be somewhat lite for a while until things start moving in the Senate. We moved so fast (54 bills) during the first few weeks that everyone is waiting to see if bills will move upstairs or not before jumping on some of the more heated issues. I imagine it could be a few weeks when you see the Gourmet Beer bill appear in the House.
