Rep. Spencer Collier (R – Irvington) was involved in a fight (or as the police report calls it, “a physical altercation”) in a parking lot on the Faulkner State Community College campus in Bay Minette Wednesday. WKRG-TV has the news on its web site including a video report and a copy of the police report.
Despite the news video report saying, “Bay Minette Police Chief Michael Michael Rowland says Collier staggered into the police department lobby and wanted to file a complaint,” neither party actually filed charges.
What the news doesn’t tell you… During the fight, the other man bit Collier’s ear so severely that it needed to be re-attached. One version of the story has it that the men were rolling around in the parking lot and that the ear was bitten off, but a source close to the incident on campus told the Parlor that the ear was not completely severed. The campus source’s understanding was that the ear was re-attached with glue.

I am sure the Republican Party can look past all this by Spencer’s WELL noted “integrity”. Better yet, I hope they open their eyes and not ask but demand his resignation just for being himself and embarrassment to his party and his constiuents! Everything else he can deal with when he gets to the house like the rest of us.
Sickofit…seeing as how the Republican party gave Senator Bishop a standing ovation and a trophy for his violent attack on Senator Barron I’d caution you not to hold your breath in waiting for them to take action against Collier.

I’ve herd a number of times about the way Mr. Colliers son uses his father name to threaten anyone who he has a problem with. Mr Wheat isn’t the first.

Gotta love the sock puppets. If the commenters here actually know the story, how about telling it instead of dropping veiled hints? And if not, how about you stop spreading innuendo?
Danny, Sickofit 2 and others do not take the time to realize that their IP addresses are submitted everytime they hit that submit button and I, like yourself do not appreciate the whole two sided conversation with oneself, it diminishes the severity of the subject at hand. I do believe that people become very frustrated when they feel the truth has been covered up and act impusively, the difference between them and Rep. Collier is nothing more than “words” which can harm just as bad and do not go away anytime soon. Sickofit 2 – the truth will come in its own course, do not taint it with impulsive behavior. I respectfully request that you and others like you do not create a situation where the rest of us cannot speak our mind on this and other blogs. Slow down, take it easy and say what you have to say the first comment.
The ip numbers don’t mean anything to me, just numbers. But I take notice when I see the same ones showing up from different names. I just don’t care for people taking advantage of the anonymity offered to try to manipulate the discussions in comments.
I do understand that there are people who feel strongly about this incident, but like you said, Sickofit, there are appropriate ways to express it…

I UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST FREE FOR ALL THAT SPENCER AND HIS SON WERE INVOLVED IN. I HERE THAT HE WAS BRAGGING THAT HE AND HIS SON “BEAT THE HELL OUT OF SOME FOUL MOUTH FOOL” . THIS HAPPENED THIS SUMMER AT A CONDO IN DESTIN. I THINK THAT MR. COLLIER HAS LITTLE MAN SYNDROME AND HAS RAISED A LITTLE NAPOLEAN. IT IS EVIDENT THAT SMALL AND SMALLER HAVE MAJOR ISSUES!!!
I heard the same thing about the assult in Destin,Fl.Why does this man continue to get away with these things? Please do not re-elect this moron!
Has this been investigated? Someone needs to get to the bottom of this. Colliers violent behavior is an embarassment. I think he should resign.
Spencer and his son are so close in age(15 years apart)that they are living their years as boxing buddies.
Could the average Joe walk up to someone on the floor of the legislature, punch them for ANY reason, and not be arrested? Would the average Joe be able to go on public school property, or a college campus, attack someone and not be arrested? Will anything come of the officer who was ticketed for breaking the law hunting. Its disturbing to see these things in the paper and on the news week after week. Defending a womans honor, or for any other reason, we must hold the average Joe, or a Legisture, or a House Representative, or a Chief of police to the same standard. As a matter of fact they should be held to a higher standard.
