The race for state House District 12 between Democrat James Fields and Republican Wayne Willingham looks to be quite a horse race.
One partisan told me that polling shows the candidates to be close, within the margin of error to one another. I asked someone close to the other campaign for a take, and the reply was, “If the election were held today, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tied. That is how close it will be.”
Who will motivate and turn out their base to a greater degree? The special election will be on January 29.

There’s a lot of enthusiasm on the Democratic side, much more than I expected for this race. I’m pretty excited.
Good to hear that, SamfordDem, a vigorous race is good for everybody.
Really won’t be long.
