All of these candidates have their positive aspects and I offer no negative criticism for them. However, I would love to see Civil Appeals Judge Tommy Bryan on the Supreme Court. Judge Bryan has made a great impact on Civil Appeals and is an honest, independent-minded jurist. While I am sure that this seat will be well-filled by Judge Shaw, Jim Main, Judge Paseur, or Ben Hand, I would love to see Judge Bryan advance to the Supreme Court.

The Alabama tort reform coalition is going to support Shaw. That means he will get lots of money. Unless Riley is willing to help Main raise money, he won't be able to compete.

I think the GOP is ready to openly accept a TRIAL Lawyer. I can just see the Beasley, Baxley & Bubba ad campaign now in the Republican Primary. OJ could do a golf fundraiser for Main.

Shaw is a solid conservative with a record of being a good judge. Jim Main has never been a judge and has a record of being a trial lawyer and law partner with Jere Beasley.

Which do you think will do better in a Republican primary?

Jim Main's pretty darn conservative himself. I don't know who would make a better choice.

Greg Shaw is a strong conservative judge and would make an excellent choice for the Supreme Court.
