I am hearing a bit more about the race for state House District 12. On the Republican side, the word here is that former county GOP chair Bill Floyd is getting BCA support (Business Council of Alabama) and (see update below… and a later update) that county commissioner Wayne Willingham is getting ALFA support.
As mentioned here before, Sheila Kretzschmar (on the County Board of Education) is getting help from the Democrats’ usual suspects, e.g. AEA, trial lawyers, union, Zeb Little. Pastor James Fields has some local support but is likely to have trouble raising money to keep up.
Other qualifiers, Republicans Greg Johnson and Stephen Parker along with Democrat Ed Flaig, are not expected to have the firepower or campaign gravitas to match Floyd, Willingham and Kretzschmar.
The party primaries will be Tuesday, November 13. A run-off would be held Tuesday, December 18.
Update: Quentin Riggins of BCA told me that BCA has not met to make any decision on whether to endorse anyone in the HD 12 race. He said they would likely wait until after the primary to consider supporting anyone.
Later Update: An elected official believes Floyd is being supported by BCA.

Is BCA really backing Floyd? Is that a crdible source? I heard they were sitting it out
The source has been real good to me before. I’ll check it out a little more.
Thanks, Anonymous #1. I learned that BCA has not made a decision of any kind on this race. I updated the post appropriately.
What other goodies do you know about HD 12? :)
[...] On the matter of whether Bill Floyd is supported by the Business Council of Alabama in the House District 12 race… an elected official weighed in with the Political Parlor: I think you were right the first time on BCA’s endorsement [that BCA is supporting Republican HD 12 candidate Bill Floyd]. While they “officially” depends on their local committee to determine who they will endorse they often pick a candidate long before the primary is over. The key for them is they do not like to lose or appear to lose so the campaign contributions in this race will be the key. You will able to see by the reports as to who is supporting Floyd. [...]
[...] Which fits with what we heard earlier here and especially here. [...]
