On the 21st last month, Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani took a phone call from his wife in the middle of a nationally televised speech to the National Rifle Association. Call it what you will – campaign stunt, short leash, co-dependence – but Giuliani has done this over 40 times.
The fact is that people inside the Giuliani campaign are appalled at the number of times their candidate has felt compelled to interrupt public appearances to take calls from his wife. The estimate from those in a position to know is that he has taken such calls more than 40 times in the middle of speeches, conferences and presentations to large donors.
That’s odd.
Why does he do it? 9/11. No kidding.

“Odd” is an understatement. Nice of him to note that “Quite honestly, since Sept. 11, most of the time when we get on a plane, we talk to each other and just reaffirm the fact that we love each other,” given that he was still married to his second wife on September 11, 2001. Party of family values indeed.
It is interesting that it’s the WSJ that’s writing about this. Has its editorial board decided Rudy’s not their guy?
Just another reason to vote for Cthulhu.
I’m sure it’s hard work keeping your third marriage together.
