Terry Spicer Looking Hard at AL-02

Terry SpicerThe word in the Parlor is that Rep. Terry Spicer (D – Elba) has formed an exploratory committee to look at running for the Congressional seat (AL-02) being vacated by Republican Rep. Terry Everett.

Ever have college friends that weren’t quite engaged to be married, but were “engaged to be engaged?” I’d venture to say that forming “an exploratory committee” is to running for an office as being “engaged to be engaged” is to being engaged.

Spicer is running. You can take that to the bank. Glad to know he is. The democrats are not going to pass this district
by this time. The majority of voters in the 2nd are tired of being told the repub party line. Bush has not exactly been the
type of president that gets 2nd district voters excited about marking the box republican for the ump-tenh time since the 60’s.
Spicer has a position on many issues that are important to the 2nd that would appear to be republican. Based on the current
scale in DC Spicer would be among the most conservative members of the Democrat Congress. Granted every blessed voter in the
district will get at least 5-6 multi-color, high dollar smear sheets touting Spicer as a bleeding liberal. Nothing could be
further from the truth. Good luck to Mr. Spicer. Hopefully we in the 2nd have the good sense to vet through all the Republican
Congressional Campaign Committee lies that are being drafted for publishing in the weeks ahead.

The sign that the repubs are concerned as they are about Spicer joining the race signals what they really fear: a candidate
that has shown he will simply outwork the barrage of b.s. from those who want southeast Alabama to remain the most least
attended to part of the state.

All in the 2nd should watch closely. The democratic leadership in Congress will soon note should Spicer be the victor in the
2nd he will be granted committee assignments that will ensure southeast Alabama is part of the equation within the Beltway.

I hope you’re running Terry’s campaign, “Wiregrass.” You’ll get crushed.

This is a Siegelman move: When Spicer, the scumbag that he is, gets indicted, he’ll be able to blame it on political motives.

Spicer stands no chance. even the weakest of the Republicans rumored to run will beat him handily
