Findings and questioned costs The 12 Shelton State Community College audit findings reported by the Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accounts on Friday are:

1. Lifelong Learning Center revenues were transferred to the Shelton State Community College Foundation Inc.

2. Notices were not posted for part-time and some full-time staff vacancies.

3. State salary policy exemptions were made without approval.

4. Part-time staff received full-time employee state insurance allocation.

5. Part-time administrative staff members received pro-rated full-time leave benefits.

6. Any approval of lease agreement for president’s home was not documented.

7. Public money was used to build foundation-owned president’s home.

8. Committees not in place to administer scholarships in compliance with state policy.

9. Too many manager/trainer and cheerleading/dance scholarships were awarded.

10. Vending and theater contracts were used to divert money to private foundations.

11. No contract defined the relationship with the Shelton State Community College Foundation.

12. Rights to foundation-owned study guides were bought, with royalties going back to the foundation and no clear copyright agreement existed.

This was cut of from my previous post...

"I said publicly how angry I was when I found out about that foundation, and I personally talked with Debbie about it and told her how angry I was, how really disgusted I was about all of it," Hall said.

To be sure, Dahl is not the only employee who has been sullied in the two-year college scandal, and she should not be the last of the system's staff to be shown the door.

But she had certainly accumulated too much baggage to continue in such a position of trust in the two-year college system. After Dahl's serious missteps, walking papers were definitely in order.

-->The list also includes Sen. Lowell Barron, D-Fyffe, who denied ever “participating” although his name is on every foundation board list since 1998.
