[...] Attorney General Troy King demonstrates that politics can be personal with him (e.g. with Tony Castaldo and Robby Owens), but that doesn’t mean its smart. Continuing to goad district attorneys around the state by sending critical news releases naming individual DA’s who took a public stance opposing King on the Robbie Owens issue, well, it simply does not feel politically astute.
[...] It has been suggested that King’s takeover of the Gamble case was at least partially due to Robbie Owens, a fellow Republican, supporting and endorsing King’s 2006 opponent, Democrat John Tyson. [...]

Helen -- Lack of statewide name identification, inability to put together a traditional democratic voting base, political infighting, and a crime victim making a commercial against him stopped the Tyson campaign.

This is not the first tale I have heard about 'unusual' prose-
cution in that area, Danny. Will see a source tomorrow and ask
for a memory refresh--no mention of the AG in that one.

What was it that lost the election for Tyson? He was obviously
more experienced, competent and forward thinking--that program to
intervene early and keep kids from the jail track. King just
kept preaching law-and-order.

What's in his background that makes the AG so super punishmen-
tarian? And hypocritical (Roy Johnson, Ala Power, etc. I also
see that he is still McCain's state chair butattended an August fundraiser in Mountain Brook for Thompson, http://www.suntimes.com/news/novak/487693,CST-EDT-novak29.article

Considering national events, looks like open season on prosecutors. Imagine we'll also see a lot more police/prosecutor misconduct defenses.

I confess this is the first I have heard of "Randall Houston's travails."

But GIYF (Google is your friend) and the <a href="http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp?S=7072860&nav=0RdE" rel="nofollow">story I found</a> is pretty remarkable.
