U.S. Attorney Perjury Investigation at Glacier Pace

Alice MartinThe perjury investigation of Alice Martin, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, by the DoJ Office of Professional Responsibility is a story first broken here at the Political Parlor. This weekend it got a look from Scott Horton at Harper’s Magazine.

Two questions: why does the DoJ appear to be moving this case not one whit? And why has this not received even a slight mention in the Alabama press (as far as I can tell)?

McClatchy had a small bit on it over the summer, but that has been the only mention I have seen.

Also odd is that the Birmingham Times seems to have given it little coverage nor has the aladems blog seem to give it any coverage (well, they probably will now). Of course, its hard to print anything, since no one is talking, other than a “X” days with no resolution article, which would be good.

I don’t see a resolution until at latest January 20, 2009 when whoever is sworn in.

The lack of any Democrats talking it up is a little odd, especially with rumors that she would like to run for AG of Alabama.

HAPPY FEBRUARY

Under the “B” … June 1

I’ve tried to follow BINGO rules and BINGO raids.  I’m not sure I understand the law, nor do I get the motives of many of the principal players.  I bet many of you know a heck of a lot more about this than I.  But one thing I am [...]
