AG Troy King Looking for a Win
Attorney General Troy King has had a tough year (for example, his flap with the Ethics Commission in recent weeks - though he had a bright moment in Hale County last month).
He is looking for a win in seeking, as promised, to have five felony charges reinstated on appeal against former Democratic Secretary of State Nancy Worley.
King and Worley are a bit like Notre Dame playing Michigan this weekend. You figure one of them is due for a little good news.

Couldn’t we just trade them with Arkansas for a future County Commissioner Elect to be chosen at a later date?

Montgomery Advertiser:
“It’s long past time for Attorney General Troy King to take charge of the agency he is paid handsomely to run and clear up any problems that is keeping his staff from providing the support the Alabama Ethics Commission — and therefore the people of Alabama — deserve.”
Birmingham News:
“The frustration is higher because we have been given so many assurances,” Sumner said. “We’ve been more than willing to communicate. What we’re looking for now is results,” Sumner said.
The Times Daily:
“The offices of the attorney general and the Ethics Commission should work closely together in public corruption investigations. The Ethics Commission has the staff to perform preliminary investigations that the attorney general may not have, which should be an arrangement conducive to rooting out public corruption. If, indeed, political turf is an issue, then both offices should take a share of the claim. But we hope that something as petty as turf is not at play.”
Birmingham News:
“But we know this: At their best, the Ethics Commission and attorney general’s office represent a unified front against public corruption. The attorney general’s office has the prosecutorial power, but the Ethics Commission provides a measure of credibility for prosecutors to pursue cases against fellow officeholders. It has worked that way in the past, and still is as far as local prosecutors are concerned, Sumner says. But it’s not working that way at the state level, and that’s not good news for the people of Alabama.”

Sorry for the self-plug, but there’s also Troy’s Greatest Hits.

Touchdown Jesus always provokes a smile here in the Parlor.
Walt, more than once I’ve almost typed how much I enjoy your comments, and this time it’s not going to be “almost.” That was funny, and I do greatly appreciate your comments.
Anonymous in comment #3, you may get a flag there for piling on. LOL.
Dan, Troy’s Greatest Hits is worth promoting. Sometimes I think to mention it at appropriate times, but in my haste I didn’t.

This is like Michigan vs. Notre Dame in that, wouldn’t it be great if both could lose?
