Preliminary Poll #’s in HD 12

Filed under: AL House, Campaign & Election — Danny @ 9:31 am

Preliminary poll numbers from AEA’s polling in House District 12 show the potential Democratic candidates for the vacant seat to be tightly bunched, according to Political Parlor sources. (I was able to learn how candidates fared relative to others, but was not privy to all the numbers.) James Fields leads the field of five at 16%, Kim Drake is second, Sheila Kretzschmar is a close third, Brad Williams and Keith Kugler follow.

On the Republican side, Nancy Horton shows a slim lead over Wayne Willingham (within the margin of error). Rhonda Bruner is farther behind.

The #’s on head-to-head matchups (Republican name vs. Democratic name) are favoring the Republicans.

These results are from the first night of polling. More data will come in.

  1. The head to head numbers shouldnt surprise anyone given the make up of that district. But the
Democrats shouldnt be too disappointed. Horton lost her county race last year and Willingham
has questionable ties as you noted Danny. But heres my question who is this James Fields? Ive
    never heard of this guy.

  2. James Fields is a great guy. He is from the Hanceville area of Cullman and is the County Chair of the ADC. I can also tell you that these polls are absolutely meaningless. I follow politics around here more closely than most and I barely know who some of those folks are.
